"Am sorry"I said fighting back the tears that were forming in my eyes as I watched Vikky crying...
I nodded my head to her telling her to come, she immediately rushed and knelt by my bed burying her face in my chest... I felt her sniff and my cloth getting moist,I knew she was still crying, I wanted to pat her but my hands were locked to the bed..
I looked at Edward and as if he knew, he immediately unlocked my hand constrains.. I began to feel the pains in my hands so much that I almost screamed.
"What are you doing!! !"the nurse yelled at Edward as she noticed my freed hands.
"It's fine ma, am here"he said as he went over to the nurse and tried to make her okay with it by assisting her with the cleanings..
I looked away from him. Taking my shaky painful hands and placing it on Vikky's "baby am so sorry I've been acting in ways that hur.. "I began when she rose up with tears covering her beautiful face..
"No dad, you didn't hurt me, "she interrupted "you scared me!!!"
"When I heard about you being hospitalized" she continued looking straight into my eyes, "I thought I was gonna lose my two dads in one day".
"Lose your two dads? "I was confused
She looked away from my face
"What's going on Vikky? "I asked but she didn't reply instead she gave me her phone showing me a text message..it was a text from her senior brother..
My hands shook more as I opened the message..
It read(red) "Hey peenut, sorry to bring this message to you at this time but you have to know, dad got into a ghastly accident today in the vehicle conveying him and his friends and his driver to a conference, only one of his friends survived with deadly injuries, dad didn't make it.. Mum's broken, I want you to be strong kay? Let's be strong for mum now.. Call you later"
I discovered at that point that my eyes were wide open in horror as I looked up to see Vikky smiling with tears.
The message time showed it was sent in the morning, probably even when I yelled at her......
