The next day, they went back to work. They seemed the same as a day ago but if you look closely, you can see that they have a bit of a jump in their step.
Their day-off was refreshing, as well as energizing. They felt light and did their work smoothly as if it was nothing.
A particular man wearing a civil uniform walked out the train from Gardarik, he inhaled the air and exhaled from his mouth, smiling at the air, as if to say he is relieved.
He blended-in in Leiden, who would say he came from Leiden or not, it was not noticable. Nothing really stands out about him, he walked from the train station to a certain postal company.
He walked inside the company ever so calmly-not wandering and headed straight to the receptionist.
"Excuse me." He said gently.
The receptionist didn't notice at first but coincidently looked up and saw him. "Oh, pardon me, good morning, Sir. How may I help you?" The lady asked.
"It's quite alright, I'm not in a rush." The man smiled at the lady, eyes slightly narrowed softly. "But if you could help me look for someone that'd be great."
The receptionist was swooned by his smiled but snapped out of her daydream, nodded and asked, "Yes, of course, and who might it be?"
The man nodded slightly in acknowledgement. "I am looking for a Violet Evergarden, it was said that she is a Auto Memory Doll here. Is it true?"
The lady was a bit amused, "You are looking for Violet Evergarden, yes?"
The man nodded, "Yup."
"Okay then, to answer your question, yes, Miss Violet Evergarden works here." The lady said, looking for a paper to right down a request to see Violet for a client.
While the receptionist was focused on looking for a paper in her desk, the man replied in an unfamiliar way.
"Great." He said, in a much deeper voice than what he used earlier.
The lady was startled and her face paled with confusion. "Excuse me?"
"Nothing." He said.
The lady shook it off and wrote down the request, and gave it to him.
"Here." She gave him the request.
"Thanks."
The man went up the stairs as per the receptionist's instruction and didn't even have to go to inside one of the rooms to look for Violet, she was already there in front of him.
"Violet Evergarden?" The man asked for confirmation.
"Uh, yes. And you are?" Violet asked curiously.
The man took his request paper and gave it to Violet. Violet ignorned the fact that her question was averted and took the paper.
"Oh, so you're a client." She stated.
"Well, something of the sort. Can we talk somewhere private." The man asked softly.
Violet inwardly narrowed her eyebrows and said, "Of course, let's go here." She led him to an empty room. Her entering first.
The man entered the room last, he looked around swiftly and then quickly locked the door quietly, Violet didn't notice.
When Violet turned around, she saw a sinister smiled across the man's face. Her face etched with fear. She was...scared. Her body automatically tensed with alertness.
"Een stoere bloem met een koninklijke achternaam, boop, verdwenen van de lijst op 29 April. Hehe." His eyes filled with bloodlust you can practically see his eye color change from cloudy blue to blood red. His voice, deep and raspy, it makes your skin crawl.
Violet's eyes widened, she felt weak, and she didn't feel that because of how he looked but of what he said. She understood him. She felt scared of something she understood but not know.
