Gilbert shot his eye open and sat up.
'I feel like I woke up like this before...'
He noticed he was without a shirt, nor pants, but underwear. He glanced beside him and saw Violet sleeping soundly on her stomach, also without clothing.
'Oh-...we fell asleep...what time is it?' Gilbert brought his legs to the side of the bed, and squinted at his watch.
'7:00?' Gilbert groaned. He stood up and immediately showered. 'I'm not going to be early for work...' After he showered, he wrapped his towel around his hips and woke Violet up.
"Violet...Violet, it's 7 something already." Gilbert tapped her on the back.
Violet got up with her eyes closed. "It's cold..." She stood up, she felt cold, then she realized she wasn't wearing anything.
"Ah- can you pass me my towel, I'll take a shower." She took the towel from Gilbert and wrapped it around herself.
Before she showered though, she went and checked on Robert. 'Arms, legs, eyes, nose, ears, okay, good...still sleeping.' Then she showered. She sighed softly against the warm water.
"I'll make breakfast, take your time in there..." Gilbert said, as he got dressed and headed downstairs.
As Violet walked out the shower, she got dressed quickly and fixed the bed.
"Here's breakfast." Gilbert said as he walked in the bedroom.
"Mm..." Violet hummed as she kept on drying her hair.
Gilbert laid the tray on the bed, and walked over to Violet.
"Give me that." He said, pertaining to the towel. "Go sit and eat."
Violet handed him the towel and sat down. She took the fork and feasted on the food Gilbert made.
"Mm, isn't there a lot of food for breakfast?"
"Nevermind that, you haven't eaten anything since yesterday lunch." Gilbert sat behind Violet and gently dried her hair with the towel. "And, I'm quite sure that you won't snack on anything later, so you should eat all of it."
"But aren't you going to eat? And aren't you going to be late?" She said whilst enjoying the fresh toast of bread with perfectly poached egg.
"I've eaten while you were still showering. And the actual time I'm supposed to clock in is at 9:00, so I still have time." He explained as he finished drying her hair.
Gilbert stood up and sat in front of Violet, so that he could see her. He observed quietly as if he was going to draw her or something.
He saw her glossy radiant hair, her matured figure...he also, just recently, noticed that she wasn't wearing anything under her shirt. Which you could most probably know when that was.
Violet caught him staring.
"Is there something wrong?"
Gilbert blinked twiced, "No, nothing's wrong. Continue eating." He said, as he stood up and went over to Robert's crib.
'I still can't believe Mr. Cairo bought this for us.'
He glanced at Robert and saw him squirming in his wrap.'Well, I also still can't believe I have a son.' He smiled and caressed his head gently. "Look at all these hair on his head..." He mumbled.
Violet glanced at Gilbert and Robert, and smiled. She stood up and took the tray in her hands. "I'll take these downstairs."
...
"Will you talk to me? About the reason why Hodgins called you, I mean."
"Of course, later. I just forgot." Violet said, holding Robert.
Gilbert nodded, "Alright, I'll see you later."
"Right, good luck at work." Violet said, before Gilbert left the house.
When Violet turned around, she heard a doorbell. She quickly went and opened the door.
It was Gilbert on the doorstep.
"Sorry. I forgot to tell you something. My mother called a two days ago." Gilbert said.
"Really? I didn't notice." Violet said.
"Yes, I was surprised as well. But she asked if when can we meet up with her. She said something about a family portrait?"
"Um, I think Friday is fine. Is that short notice?" Violet commented.
"No, I think Friday is good as well. I'll call her when I get home."
"It's fine, I'll tell her myself, don't worry about it." Violet said.
"..." Gilbert nodded, "Alright."
"Now go. It's almost time." Violet reminded her husband.
"Right. Bye." Gilbert nodded, then rushing off to work.
Violet then closed the door. "A family portrait, huh?" She walked towards the phone. "I think that'd be a perfect opportunity to capture you in your early ages." She said to Robert, who was still half asleep.
She picked up the telephone and slowly dialed the numbers. 'Hopefully this is the correct number.' Then she heard the phone being picked up.
"Bougainvillea Estate, how can we help you? This is the head butler speaking."
"Greetings, this is Violet Evergarden speaking." Violet spoke.
"Oh my. Ma'dam Violet, I heard that you have recently delivered a son. The whole estate has their congratulations in order. How are the both of you?"
"He and I are very well, thank you. I was calling to see if the Lady Bougainvillea is there? I'm calling about a confirmation in her schedule for a family portrait she requested?" She asked.
"Mm, alright Ma'dam Violet, I'll go check this with her, but do you care to hold?"
"I don't mind, I'll hold."
"Alright, thank you."
...
...
...
...
...
"Alright, I'll hand the telephone to her....Hello?"
"Is this Lady Bougainvillea?" She said, as she leaned her arm on her leg before continuing.
"Yes, this is she. When do you want the day to be, dear?"
"Um, if it's alright with you. Will this week's Friday be alright?"
"Of course. Friday is good. I'll be expecting you to meet me here in my estate, alright? Be sure to wear modest and formal clothing."
"Yes, ma'am. As always, thank you."
"Thank you as well, dear. Until then."
"Until then." Violet said, before putting the phone down.
She sighed. "Huu...will Friday work for you?" She asked Robert.
Robert blinked and smiled at her. In turned, Violet smiled back.
"Hah, you're such a cute child." She kissed his cheeks.
'A family portrait. That would be nice. We should get one too.'
