"Let's see, we have Ms. Mellor here-"
"Oh, just Emma would be fine." Emma said, interrupting.
"Okay then, Emma, Yousef and Yousin, then Gilbert and I. That makes 5 of us boarding the train." Violet said, muttering most of it, as she walked towards the booth.
"Yes? Which train will you be taking?" Asked the train attendant.
"The Leiden to Lechernt train." Violet answered.
"Right, how many will be boarding?"
"5 people."
"Okay, that'll be 20 Euros each, that's 100 Euros total."
"Right, wait a second please." Violet replied, now looking at the group expectedly.
"'kay, wait..." The twins opened their bags, "here we go." Handing Violet 20 Euros each.
Gilbert gave Violet 40 Euros, securing both of their fines.
Emma? "Emma?"
"Uhh...I-don't any money.." Emma said, bluntly.
"Huh?"
"I ran away from assassinating you two so...yeah, no money." Emma said, walking coincidently behind the twins.
"Yeah, that's alright, we'll pay for ticket too, just remember to pay us back in the near future." Gilbert said, handing Violet a 20.
As they all boarded the train, Emma and the twins almost instantly fell asleep. It was early in the morning after all, and they woke up much earlier than that because they didn't know that time for the train to Lechernt.
The only ones awake were Violet and Gilbert, they didn't really know why, occupational hazard?
After these years, they still haven't forgotten about their training, or at the very least their bodies didn't. Some thing did change though, ever since that day when Violet has not felt like her usual self, and when they found out Violet is pregnant, she is getting more easily tired than usual.
Violet was sitting by the window, with Gilbert sitting next to her, her suitcase on her lap. The others were sitting in another aisle, with the twins sitting next to each other so dearly, and Emma pushed away and now sitting alone in another booth.
The train ride will have multiple stops before it reaches to Lechernt, it'll be about 2 hours more before they get there, so Violet decided caught a little drift but she didn't want to leave her typewriter on the floor and possibly break, so she refrained from-
Violet was nodding off, she snapped out of it when she heard someone chuckling at her.
"Why don't you just go ahead and sleep? We have an hour or more to go." Gilbert said, eyeing her bag. "Come on, I'll hold the typewriter for you." Gilbert added.
Violet eventually handed Gilbert her bag, then a couple minutes later, Gilbert was the only one awake, surrounded by 4 asleep people who looked like children; they curled up a little because of the cold, now that he thought of it, he is the oldest there.
Gilbert loved fall and winter, reminded him of his family's good times before his father became more strict than he already is, and-
*sigh
'If could change something in my childhood, it would be standing up for myself. My father was a strict man, but he wasn't bad, he just wanted his two sons to follow his dreams that he himself couldn't fulfill. He was a prideful and honorable man, that he was, just too prideful I'm afraid. It was to the point he didn't care what his sons thought of his strength. It was a strong, double edged strength too. If I could've changed that, he would-' Gilbert stopped himself.
'Why am I thinking of my father right now? I haven't even think of him for years, why now? Why- damn, I miss him. He was an honorable man, admirable too, his respect for his comrades was immeasurable , and....his orders were his advice to us not to do. He didn't order us to be a dog, he told us to never do the mistakes he made.' Gilbert realized.
'Why just now, why just now did I think of you, father?'
*sigh
Gilbert smiled, then looks at Violet.
'Well, thank you anyways.'
