*Trin trun....*Trin trun....
(A/N: This is the sound of my door bell haha, so this is what I imagined for theirs.)
The door opened.
"Yes. Good Afternoon sir?" Gilbert checked the door.
"Oh, might this be the wrong door? My name is Patrick Evergarden, do you know a Violet Evergarden?"
"Oh. You are Mr. Evergarden? Mr. Patrick?" Gilbert seemed confused.
"Yes. Yes. I am he, I took my wife's name, what of it? Who might you be?" Patrick was confused as well.
"Yes, I recognize you now, please come in, I apologise, you don't look the same without your beard and with your glasses." Gilbert let the man inside.
"Thank you. Do I know you? You look quite familiar as well. Oh! Are you Albert Bougainvillea? You must be, you look like the painting I saw recently...but..." Patrick said, still doing the guessing game. He heard that Albert had died though.
"Oh, I am not, my late father has passed away years ago. Excuse me for not saying sooner, I am Gilbert Bougainvillea, his second son." Gilbert introduced.
"...My...you were a young man when I last saw you..." Patrick stated.
Then Patrick's mind went off to the main reason of why he came to this house.
"Then...why are you here? I'm sure this is the right address. This is Violet Evergarden's Residence...right?"
"Yes...but..." Gilbert trailed off when he heard Violet walking down the stairs.
"Oh, is that Sir Patrick?" Violet asked.
Gilbert saw Patrick glance up at Violet and saw it as a way to let him connect the dots.
"It is also known as the Evergarden-Bougainvillea Residence. You see, Sir Patrick, I am proudly Violet Evergarden's husband."
............after a very, very long explanation and lunch, which had some conversations starting with...
"So you're saying you didn't really have a licensed birth certificate until a few years ago?"
And some with the topics of...
"How old are you again?"
And....
"You've had a lot of death threats?!"
"Please be gentle if you speak of this to Ma'am Tiffany..."
And most along the lines of...
"So you've been married for almost two years now, and now you're pregnant with your first child. You've had more than 4 years of military experience, and you've had many people trying to kill you after what has happened in your past? And this Jones person is the master mind from the beginning? But now...it's over? And you're safe?"
".....yes?"
After....that.....
"I see, well, congratulations to the both of you. I wish you both well. And I'm sure Tiffany won't mind if you stop by at the Household, but you should call-in first, she'll make a fuss if she wasn't ready."
"We'll be glad to visit."
Both nodded their goodbyes to each other.
Violet and Gilbert walked away.
"Do you want to walk around a little?" Gilbert asked.
Violet smiled and replied with a simple nod.
As they were walking around Leidenshaflich...
They saw the Cairos' Pharmacy and decided to visit Aciel Cairo, the owner of the pharmacy.
"Welcome."
"Mr. Cairo."
"Oh," Aciel looked up and saw them. "Miss Violet, Sir. Gilbert, nice to see you and good afternoon."
"Good afternoon as well, Mr. Cairo." Gilbert greeted.
Aciel walked out of the booth, "Well? How can I help you this fine afternoon? Need some an eye patch?"
"I don't think I'll wear an eye patch anymore, I think it's better if it's just like that." Gilbert said, then looked at Violet. "What do you think?"
Violet nodded, "I'm fine with or without it."
Gilbert was glad to hear that, then he looked back at Aciel.
"Actually, I was wondering if you'd still have arm prosthetics?" He asked.
"Mm, let me see, who is it for?" Aciel said, walking back to his booth.
"Well, it's for me."
"Hmm? For you?"
Gilbert thought it was just easier to show it him, so he rolled up his sleeve.
"...oh...." Aciel stared a bit. "Is this recent? Oh! Pardon me, I was being disrespectful."
"I don't mind." Gilbert simply commented.
"Ahem. Yes, well, I believe we don't have a lot of variety of prosthetics here - but!" Aciel said, then he rummaged under his booth and brought out a bind of paper.
"There is this maker in Machtig who, rumor has it, makes the best prosthetics in the country. That is according to the people who tries them though. I can give a call and see if they are willing to make one."
"Can you do that?" Violet asked.
"Yes, of course, anything for my customers, just give me a few moments and I think I'll be able to have that arranged."
Gilbert and Violet just nodded, patiently waiting.
....
"Okay! Good news, they said they are open and are happy to be of service!"
"That's good." Gilbert commented.
"Yes, well, one problem though...are you willing to go to Machtig in person to meet up? They said, they can't really make a customized prosthetic for you if they don't get your measurements in person." Aciel said, scratching his head a little.
"Well...Violet? Would you like to go to Machtig?" Gilbert asked, looking back at Violet.
"...I don't see why not, there's no harm in just going there ourselves. I miss traveling anyways." Said Violet.
Gilbert smiled, "We're going to Machtig then."
(A/N: I'm sorry if you think this is going on too long, but I wanted this to be an extended slice of life genre for them. Even if it's annoying, yet again, I'd like to thank you for still reading. If you have questions about the story or me, just comment about it, and I'll answer it as soon as possible.)
