A bicycle came by at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
"Ahh! Out of the way!" A young girl on a bicycle exclaimed, seemingly not knowing how to properly operate the thing.
Violet, unfortunately, was-
"Violet!" Gilbert yelled.
When the moment ended, the young girl on the bicycle fell down, scrapping her knee.
"Ouch."
Violet was also fine, she just scratched her clothing, as well as her arm, but that was fine, it was a prosthetic anyway. Violet was on the ground though, she fell when she was hit.
Gilbert offered her a hand.
"Thanks, let's see how the girl is doing..." Violet said, walked towards the girl. "Ah."
"What?" Gilbert asked.
"My arm got misplaced a little, I'll need to adjust it later." Violet stated.
It seems she wasn't just scratched after all.
As they walked towards where the girls was, they noticed a crowd forming.
"Hey, we know you all are curious, but please excuse us." Gilbert said to the crowd.
When Gilbert and Violet saw the girl, the girl was with Mara, but that wasn't the only thing that made Violet curious, isn't the young girl-
"Gosh, Anne, you were being reckless again, you might have gotten someone hurt." Mara scolded.
"Hehe, sorry, mother."
When Violet walked upon them, Mara noticed Violet's tattered clothing.
"Oh, my! Violet, are you alright?" Mara said, concerned.
"Yes, I'm alright Ma'am." Violet replied, bowing to her, before looking at Anne and kneeling down. "You're Anne right? Ms. Anne?" She asked.
"Violet?" The young girl said, forgetting about her scrape. "You're the doll Violet I've met a couple years ago, right?"
Violet nodded, smiling, "Yes, I am. I see you have grown older." She commented.
"And you haven't changed. Are you sure you are human?" Anne said, still a little curious.
"Anne! Watch your words, that was rude." Mara scolded.
"No, it's alright," Violet said, "let's help you up."
Once, Anne was up, everyone noticed she was having a hard time walking with her scratch, they frowned at that.
Violet whispered something to Gilbert's ear, Gilbert smiling, before she walks up to Anne.
"Gilbert here can give you a piggy back ride, is that okay?" Violet asked Anne if she'd like to be carried, but Violet noted Anne eyeing Gilbert, so she whispered to her ear as well. "He's a very dear person to me so nothing to worry, right?"
Anne nodded, opened up a bit and let Gilbert carry her on his back.
"Miss Violet, may I ask how you know Anne?" Mara asked curiously.
"Oh, Miss Anne was a daughter to my client. I'm assuming you're her foster mother?" Violet answered. But quickly after, she realize she was being blunt again. "I'm terribly sorry, I didn't mean it like that, I just-"
"No, no, I understand, you weren't being rude to me in any sort of way, plus, we don't really hide the fact we aren't her biological parents, we're just very happy that she came into our world." Mara said with such happiness.
And they continued walking to the publishing company they are headed in.
"But, I do want to ask you something, Miss Violet." Mara said to Violet, facing her briefly.
Violet nodded, "Yes?"
"Are you and this Gilbert officer keeping a secret relationship?" Mara asked, whispering.
Violet blushed at what she thought and chuckled, "What? We're not keeping a secret relationship."
"Oh? Well, by the looks of your interaction with each other, it looks like the two of you are a couple but keeping each it a secret. Pardon my intrusion then." Mara said.
Violet chuckled yet again, "Well, you aren't wrong Ma'am, Gilbert and I are a couple, we just don't say anything about it when we are on a job together." She replied.
"Oh, well that is nice. To have your partner come to a job with you." Mara commented.
"Yes. By the way Ma'am Mara." Violet said.
"Yes?" Mara said, letting her ask a question.
"What is your husband's name?" Violet asked.
"Oh, my husband? His name is Kousuke." Mara answered.
"Kousuke?" Violet said, thinking it might be a different person.
"Yes, Kousuke, oh. There he is, Kousuke!" Mara yelled.
Once Violet saw the man she was yelled at, all Violet said was, "Oh."
