"It's fine-"

"It's not. You two are a newlyweded couple. You should spend some time together after the wedding. You should enjoy being young."

Lt. Colonel Keelan kept arguing that they should enjoy the very beginning of their lives together while it lasts.

...

"...fine." Gilbert sighed. "I'll take a month off."

"You can't do that." Keelan quickly said. "I said you can enjoy quality time together, yes. But I also need you Bougainvillea. You already know how much manpower we lack compared to the other stations."

Gilbert and Violet looked confused.

"Then we won't take the time off. Easy as that. Sir, you know we don't need it anyway." Gilbert said.

Keelan shook his head. "But you should need it. I swear to you, you'll have a better marriage if you have a good start." He looked at Gilbert who shrugged. "Fine, I'll give you a month off. Now go, I'm busy."

"You were the one who called us here, sir. But...we'll be leaving tommorow." Gilbert said, standing up.

Keelan nodded. Then they left his office.

"Where will we go?" Violet asked, as they walked home.

Gilbert glanced at Violet, then looked back ahead. "I guess...we should pay my mother a visit? Maybe Lady Tiffany as well?" He looked back at Violet. "Is that alright?"

"Alright, it's been a while..." Violet said, distantly.

"Are you thinking about something?" Gilbert asked.

"Yes..."

"Will you tell me?"

"Yes..."

"..." Gilbert assumed she was thinking about something, but he wanted to see how distracted she was. "...do you want to...marry me?"

Violet stopped in her tracks and stared at him confused. "Aren't we already?"

Gilbert looked at her. Then chuckled slightly. "That's right. I just wanted to see if you actually heard me."

"I heard you. I was thinking about our house." Violet said, starting to walk again.

Gilbert continued with her, placing her hand around her waist. "What about our house?"

Violet looked at Gilbert, then glanced away. "Nothing."

Gilbert furrowed his eyebrow and grabbed her arms, stopping her in her tracks. "What about it?"

"Nothing, really. I was just thinking." Violet said, looking at him in the eye.

"Fine." Gilbert let her go and they started walking again. "We should go somewhere else then." He suggested.

"Where?"

Gilbert thought about it, then he was suddenly hit by a ball flying towards his face. He didn't have enough time to dodge it, but he caught it.

"Ah- give me my ball back mister." It was the kid who threw the ball.

Gilbert shook it off and kneeled down in front of the kid. "That isn't right, didn't your mother teach you manners?"

The kid looked embarrassed, he wanted to run off. Then his big brother came.

"Ahh- I apologise sir, my kid brother was fooling around." He bowed his head. "Go apologise." He told his younger brother.

The kid bit his lip and bowed his head. "I'm sorry sir."

Gilbert stood up, and sighed. "It's fine, but it's better to play in parks." He gave the ball back. "Stay safe then."

"Ah, yes sir." The older brother said, before running off with his brother.

Gilbert returned to Violet, "Sorry."

"It's fine. You were saying?"

"Mm, I was thinking we could visit the agricultural lands in Enchaine." Gilbert said.

"What made you think of Enchaine?" Violet asked.

"Well, I'm quite embarrassed to say, but a letter arrived yesterday asking if I can visit a boarding school there and give some wisdom." Gilbert explained.

"So it'll be a double purpose trip." Violet concluded.

"Are you fine with that?" Gilbert asked.

"Of course, I actually looking forward to seeing what you'll be saying to the students there." Violet said.

Gilbert rubbed the back of his neck. "Are you really fine that this trip won't have much 'romance' in it?"

"Didn't we have enough of that yesterday?" Violet says.

"You...are embarrassing me." Gilbert avoided her gaze.

"Besides, we have the rest of our lives for that." She smiled.

Gilbert smiled back, "You're right." He glanced at their new home. He swiftly carried her in his arms and tried opening the door.

"This is what happens when you try to do things without thinking it through." Violet said.

"Stop scolding me and open the door. Please?"

"Yes, yes."

And so, they packed their bags and headed up to Enchaine.
