16: Alone Together

The day was a bit cloudy in Kazaly, the perfect day for a occasion to happen.

It has been a few weeks since Violet and Gilbert stayed in Kazaly, and they both agree that Kazaly was a warm and homely place, yet they, of course, felt very home sick.

The people in Kazaly were very friendly and enjoyed the Bougainvillea Couple's company, and same goes to them, but they felt a....little different. No, that was a lie, this is a lot different.

Kazaly is home to many but just not to them, Leidenshaftlich was and always is their home. And they know, them staying in Kazaly wasn't permanent, but since few weeks almost a month they've been there, they haven't had any contact from anyone from Leiden.

Everyday they were in Kazaly reminded them of Leiden, they had nothing to do in Kazaly but stare into space and enjoy their own company. To many, having this 'vacation' was a blessing, and it is, but they were also reminded that their lives are in danger, meaning they'd have to endure their home sickness.

They were...alone...together....

To their suprise, on this cloudy, was a day that was different was any other they in Kazaly. Mail was sent to them. Finally. Contact from Leiden.

The mail was sent by Claudia Hodgins, saying on the mail, "From C.H. Post Company's President, Claudia Hodgins:

I will be giving you multiple letters from various people, including myself. Though it is not allowed to sent multiple letters from different departments, I will give an exception. If you suspect you are safe, you are free to visit back Leiden. I have also told all your co-workers that you have left on a stress vacation, hopefully you find this in your best interest."

Violet and Gilbert were happy to know that people in Leiden hasn't forgotten about them.

They opened the mail and opened the first letter from the Hodgins Couple. It read, "To Violet and Gilbert, Tis' I, Cattleya Hodgins, who is doing the writting, but I am writing on behalf of Claudia as well. None of the formality now and I would like to say that we found out the gender of the baby! Though it is not official yet to our other friends, the doctor told us that we will most likely have a little boy! Can you believe it? In less than a year, we will be expecting a little guy! Now, I know this is all about us but I just wanted to tell you this first before others because you two are one of the most important people in our lives. I just wanted to let you know that. Hopefully, you two are doing alright in Kazaly and this letter finds you well.

Sincerely, Cattleya."

Violet and Gilbert both smiled, they just both got it in their heads that the Hodgins' were having a baby. They both wanted to have kids in the future....though they suspect-

The next letter they read was from the C.H. Post Company, probably for Violet. It read;

"Hey Violet and Gilbert, it's the Post Company Office people. We all miss you, Violet! It's so hard working without you! Iris is mentally dying without your help, and Jewel and Anna are hopelessly trying to calm Iris down. We actually hired a new employee, he is actually two of them, so it's actually a them. The both of them a transferred from Lechernt, and the both of them are twins! Their names are Yousef and Yousin Sharif, they are both muslim from Kazakhstan. They are quite a handful but fun and more importantly very helpful with the loss of work support from you. They are a addition to our small Post Company family, but they are never going to replace you. We miss you and hopefully you come back soon and safe."

Violet smiled at how thoughtful her co-workers are, and can already imagine these two new employees at their service.

The next one, and probably last one, was from the State Office, or Office 13. It read;

"From Lieutenant-Colonel Keelan. Hopefully, you two are doing alright there. The officers here were planning on sending you sending you individual letters, but I told them not to and that I would somehow mention it on this letter. Anyways, there's news I have to tell you, my nephew, who says you have met, have been promoted to Staff Sergeant. We will be throwing him a congratulatory party in two weeks, we all, were hoping you will be joining us. We all hope you come back from your vacation in tip top shape."

'That's right, they all think we're taking a break from work.' Violet thought, she standing up and walking towards the door.
"I will be taking a walk for a couple of minutes." She announced.

"Oh," Gilbert responded, "do you want me to come with you?" He said, standing up as well.

"No thanks, I'll be quick, just need a little air." Violet said, smiling at Gilbert before closing the door gently and walking away.

Gilbert watched the door closed, then he carefully sat down, sighing. 'How did it come to this? A year and a half ago we were fine, fine....right?'
