After a good half an hour later, Gilbert and Violet felt the need to step away and rest for the day. But before they did, they walked to Gilbert's work place, or otherwise known as the office.
Whether the officers at Gilbert's office found it fair or not, their office became known as the office because of them having the most successful arrests and most outstanding officers.
Of course, anyone who really observed more will notice that most of that arrest was made by Ms. Violet Evergarden. Such a funny thought though.
"Hey, Mr. Bougainvillea, you're back, nice to see you are well." Lt. Colonel Keelan said, "though as for Ms. Violet...I'm sorry for the abruptness, but are you feeling unwell? Would you like some water?" Keelan added.
"Yes, I'm sorry, I do feel parched, had a long day is all." Violet replied.
To the eye, you can clearly see that her complexion is on the pale side. She appears sickly and about to faint.
"Alright then..." Keelan commented rather concerned, he glanced at Gilbert.
Gilbert took the hint and said, "Worry not, after this short visit, we'll both take the day resting. And I'll take you up on the water please." He added, like he was ushering him away.
Keelan just nodded and went away to fetch some water for Violet. As Keelan did that, Gilbert faced Violet.
"Are you really just thirsty? Do you want to sit down?" Gilbert asked Violet, worried.
As Gilbert's guess, Violet would say she is alright.
"I am fine." Violet said shortly. And he was correct.
Two to three years may be short, but this span is more than enough to know that Violet Evergarden is as stubborn as can be. And when Gilbert noticed she wouldn't want to trouble them, he took action.
Gilbert can be seen speaking to James shortly with James nodding before walking back to Violet.
She fainted.
She didn't reach the bare ground though, Gilbert was just in time to catch her.
'Alright.' Gilbert thought, quite determined.
He carried Violet in his arms, nodded to Keelann and then walked off to their house with James right behind them with their luggage.
Gilbert knew this was going to happen sooner or later, he knew Violet would rather stay silent than speak out. As he walked towards their home, he sighed.
"You didn't eat the breakfast I made, did you?" Gilbert said.
Silence was held at the air, Gilbert frowned at that.
"Why do you have the need to act strong?" Gilbert whispered, just for Violet to hear.
"It pains me that you can't tell me things. Like you don't trust me."
Violet heard. She frowned, she realized she hurt the one and only person she truly trusts.
"I'm sorry." Violet said quietly, looking down.
She buried her head in Gilbert's chest with comfort.
This silent act placed words into Gilbert's ears.
'I trust you.'
