After a while, Gilbert didn't get to find a place for Colin to stay at and since he thought it was about time for him to go to his meeting, he opted for Colin to continue to stay at his household.
As he entered Administrations, he told Colin to wait for him at the waiting area, he added that he hopes it won't take too long.
Colin nodded and let Gilbert go to his office before she went off to find a waiting area.
Before Gilbert walked inside the meeting room he was supposed to walk in to, he sensed that he forgot something yesterday, but shook it off as nothing and knocked on the door politely.
"Come in." Said the man from the other side of the door.
Gilbert walked in the room, taking off his cap and nodding in a bowing manner to the people who had asked for him.
When he lifted his head, he saw Lt. Colonel Keelan was one of the four people who were sitting across the table.
"Ah, Sergeant Bougainvillea, you are here early by..." The man checked his pocket watch, "twenty-five minutes. Please, sit down."
Gilbert just nodded, meekly walking over to the seat, opposite to those of he didn't know, placing his cap in the side of the table.
"Well, Sergeant, I assume you don't know what we will be discussing." The man confirmed with Gilbert.
"No, I don't." Gilbert confirmed.
The man nodded, then he stood up, "Let me introduce myself,"
The man standing was about 6 feet, about the same height as Gilbert, he wore an uniform of high status. If Gilbert would presume, he would guess that the man was in his mid-50s. And judging from his name tag, the older mans name is 'Visser'.
Gilbert stood up as well, as well as the people beside the man.
"I am Lieutenant Colonel Levi Visser of Leidenshaflich Administrations, the men beside me are Captain Derk Admiraal and Lieutenant Emiel Admiraal, they are both from the Gardarik Empire." Visser introduced as the men nodded as their name was called.
Gilbert felt a bit conflicted when he heard Gardarik, but regardless, he nodded and gave them a welcoming response.
Visser sat down.
"Okay, I'll get to the point. The reason why I called you and Lt. Colonel Keelan is because I want for you to accept me a favor, and a huge favor as well to these gentlemen who went a long way to discuss this." Visser started.
Gilbert, still quite confused, nodded Visser to continue.
"I want to promote you to Master Sergeant and have you transferred to one of the stations at Gardarik Empire." Visser said, pausing to get the reaction of Gilbert.
Gilbert really didn't know how to process it, they want to promote him and then transfer him to Gardarik?
After a few seconds, Visser spoke again.
"Of course, you're salary will be raised and all goes accordingly. What makes this special and a job I believe only you can do, is that you will be taking your first weeks of being an Master Sergeant in Gardarik Empire."
"You see, our comrads here from Gardarik need a Master Sergeant to take place in one of their officer stations. The reason they came all the way to Leidenshaflich, is that they thought it would be beneficial to our two sides, if we showed the support and stable bonds between us, especially since it has been a few years after the peace treaty." Vassir explained.
Gilbert nodded, focusing on his thoughts on this.
Vassir waited a few seconds before facing Lt. Colonel Keelan.
"And why I asked you here is if you are willing to have Sergeant Bougainvillea out of your service for a few weeks." Visser indirectly asked Keelan.
"O-Of course I am willing, I think this arrangement would definitely be good for both our sides." Said Keelan, seemly startled by the arrangement as well. "But that only is if Sergeant Bougainvillea is willing."
"Of course, we needn't forget about Bougainvillea's part in this, that would be foolish."
"Since this is quite short notice and I do believe that you have a loved one staying with you here as Keelan had said, Captain and Lieutenant Admiraal agree that they would give you two days to discuss this matter with yourself and your wife." Visser said, before standing up and taking his cap.
"Sergeant." Visser called Gilbert.
Gilbert, a little overwhelmed, stood up as well, saying, "Yes, Lieutenant Colonel Visser, Sir?"
"I do hope that you think carefully of your decision." Visser said, sincerely. He handed Gilbert a piece of paper.
Gilbert took it, glancing at what it read.
"This reviews what will happen in your time in Gardarik and how will your promotion be arranged all in full detail." Visser said, taking out his hand for Gilbert to shake.
"Uh-yes, thank you Sir." He shook hands with the Lieutenant Colonel.
Then Gilbert offered a hand shake to the Admiraals as well.
Both of them shook hands.
"Thank you for coming all the way here to Leidenshaflich, Captain Admiraal, Lieutenant Admiraal." Gilbert nodded his thanks.
The Admiraals smiled a bit and nodded as well before wearing their caps.
"We'll see you in two days then Sergeant Bougainvillea, same time, same location. Dismissed." Visser took the last word before he walked out the room with his cap on, with the Admiraals following him out.
Gilbert nodded to Lt. Colonel Keelan before wearing his cap as well and walked out the door, looking for Colin with a hard to explain expression on his face.
