It was the third day with Jane at home and it was a total mess. She spent her time throwing up and having diarrhea, perfuming the bathroom. Will even preferred doing what he had to do outside or at school as it was so unbreathable! He quickly left his home, not wanting to be here a second more, and went to school. He joined his friends in front of the building.
- Hey Will, where is your mother? frowned Bev.
- At home, she is sick, lied the young boy.
In fact, she decided to stay at home to keep an eye on Jane, to be sure she was ok and wouldn't try to get drunk or high.
- Oh, what does she have?
- Flu or something like that.
- Damn, flu is hard! stated Dustin.
- She will be fine, she is strong! told Mike.
The group nodded and entered the school. They spent the day together, even if Max was still mad at Will and Mike, she tolerated their presences, as long as they didn't talk to her.
The redhead was now in her apartment, doing her homework when she realized that Will had a book she needed to do her exercises. She rolled her eyes and grumbled before walking outside her home. She arrived in front of his house and knocked. The young boy opened to her.
- Um...hi, frowned Will.
- Hey, you have my algebra exercises, right?
- Oh yeah, I forgot, wait me here.
The young boy walked in his corridor to his room. As it was cold, Max decided to step a bit inside, to protect her from the cold. The smell was brutal, it was apparently a hard flu! But she wasn't expecting to see Joyce walking out of the bathroom with so much energy and a black-eye.
- Hey Max, smiled the mother.
- Hey, you're feeling better? frowned the redhead.
- Better?
- Yeah, Will told us you had the flu.
At the same moment, Will came back with the book and put it brutally on the girl's torso.
- Yes she has, now leave! ordered the young boy.
- Will! intervened his mother. You could have told her about Jane!
- Jane is here!? asked quickly Max.
- Yes she is here, I thought he told you but apparently not.
- Having her here is hard enough! I don't want my friends to come here for her instead of me! said angrily Will.
- You're so stupid Will! stated the redhead, entering and pushing him out of her way. Where is she!?
- Bathroom, answered Joyce.
Max didn't wait a second and quickly walked to it. She opened the door and entered before refolding it without closing it. Joyce, curious, took support on her wall to listen, accompanied by her son. Max didn't move, looking at the other girl. Jane had her head against the toilet, her arms crossed and her entire body shaking. Her face was pale and sweating and her eyes were closed, not like if she was sleeping but more like if she was suffering the pain. Max felt her heart breaking, she didn't like to see Jane like that, she seemed really sick, close to death! She slowly approached her, and sat next to her, her back against the wall.
- Jane? called softly the redhead.
The girl had a weak startle before hardly opening her eyes and turning her head to her.
