Chapter Twenty Nine ~ A Warrior's Pride

~Nicole~

Broggy and the other giant continued their fight, i couldn't help but be fascinated by it, their fight was so ferocious and i could tell they knew what they were doing, aiming for vital spots and openings, "What an incredible fight huh?"Usopp asked "Yeah"i nodded in agreement "Both their attacks are aimed at vital spots one slip from either of them and that's it their dead"Usopp said "Well except that their weapons are all dull, they might still do some damage but nothing deadly"i said.

"These's guys have fought to the death for a hundred years? That's gotta get old, this is a good thing, this is our chance to get away let's go"Nami said walking off, i peeled my eyes off the battle deciding to follow her but that image of Broggy and the other giant clashing was burned into my memory.

"Usopp"Nami said looking back to him "Amazing"i heard him mutter "They fight so seriously and they don't even know why"Usopp said "This fight's getting really annoying"Nami whined, i rolled my eyes at her "Don't you see this is an example of a real battle between real men"Usopp said "Say what?"Nami asked.

"Maybe an analogy will help, it's as if they've planted a flag in their heart that says i am a warrior, this flag is more important then their very lives, they can never allow the flag to be destroyed by someone else that's why they continue both continue this fight for a hundred yeas, do you see it now? This is a proud duel a legendary fight between two dedicated warriors"Usopp said as Broggy and the other giant clashed again and again in the distance.

"Hmm, yeah whatever that warrior stuff doesn't really interest me in the slightest, you coming?" Nami asked Usopp "No i'm still watching this, this is my ultimate goal, to be a brave warrior like each of these titans, really though someday, i will be a proud warrior of the sea"Usopp said "So what you're really saying then is you want to be a giant?"Nami asked "Moron! You haven't listen to a single word i said have you?!"Usopp asked coming over.

"I have and i get what you mean, don't bother with her though, someone who doesn't have pride in themselves will never understand the pride of others"i said "Yeah, you know exactly what i'm talking about Nicole"Usopp grinned at me.

The fight came to and end, i'm glad i decided to stick through to the end, i don't think i'll ever forget this fight, their laughs echoed through the forest and Broggy came back after a while and Usopp told him how the fight had inspired him "A brave warrior of the seas you said, what's that exactly?"Broggy asked fixing his axe.

"I'm talking about you guys what i'd really like is to be like the two of you some day"Usopp said "Huh? You wanna be a giant?"Broggy asked, i snickered a bit "Not quite, what he means is he wants to be brave, honorable and proud like you, personality wise, see currently he's a spineless coward"i said "Hey!"Usopp protested.

Broggy laughed "I see you know in Elbaf even though our life spans are longer then yours are, we still think about how we will die, we know everything we have and everything we are will one day cease to exist like everything else, but it's worth it to die a true warrior of Elbaf with out sacrificing your pride, that is what we call dying with honor to die such a great death would be an ever lasting treasure, it's what we seek in Elbaf"Broggy said "So pride is your treasure that's great, i've decided to learn from you, from now on i'll call you master"Usopp said.

The volcano went off again "Well there's the signal, it's really been active today"Broggy said "You're really going? But your wounds from the last battle haven't healed"Usopp said "Please Dorry can't be doing any better then me"Broggy said, then he laughed "A few scratches won't take me out of the duel that would sure make me a poor excuse for a brave warrior"Broggy laughed again.

"Now master Broggy go and show this guy!"Usopp said and laughed with Broggy "You bet Usopp, i'm gonna beat him for sure this time, he doesn't have a chance"Broggy said before walking off, Usopp yelled after him "Well now we can think about getting back to the ship, waiting for a year? There's no freaking way it's completely unacceptable, we need to get everyone back on the ship and come up with a plan"Nami said walking off.

I again decided to follow "Now hold on a second, i for one don't think we stand a chance in a fight against dinosaurs, cutting through the jungle and getting to the Merry won't do us much good if we get killed on the way will it?"Usopp asked "Baby steps i see"i muttered "Yes i said someday i would be a brave warrior of the sea besides even a brave warrior has to have enough sense not to get himself killed"Usopp said.

"Or enough skill to defend themselves from anything"I said "Yes that too"Usopp said "But listen even if i should lose everything someday and must face a horribly tragic death, alone on a deserted island, i will proudly say this of myself, i am captain Usopp and know that i've been a great brave warrior of the sea"Usopp said before falling down, i sweatdropped a bit "Yeah yeah, but for now do you think you could just try to be a dependable warrior?"Nami asked dragging Usopp by his bag "Right let's go"Usopp said.

"Nicole you get to the front"Nami said "Alright"i shrugged knowing exactly why she wanted me at the front and not wanting to make an argument about it i decided to do as she told.

Zoro was dragging around a dinosaur he had caught and killed back to the Merry but "This isn't good i'm lost"he said to himself "I think this tree looks familiar but it's kind of hard to tell in this place, i think i was supposed to take a left at the tree wrapped in vines"he muttered when he noticed Nicole, but it was a fake "Nicole!"he smiled feeling delighted to see her again after a while "You came to find me right at the perfect moment, seems i got lost"he said sweatdropping a bit, he dragged the dinosaur with him as he went closer to Nicole "Nicole?"he asked.

I had quickly finished off the dinosaur chasing us but Nami and Usopp had long since ran off, i sighed a bit wondering should i head to the Merry or where the others are, then i noticed a figure "Zoro?"i questioned and got closer "It is you"i smiled, my heart racing seeing him again after a while "I'm sorry i kinda forgot about meeting up, but it seemed you found me regardless"i said walking closer "Funny how you're pants with directions"i said, then darkness.
