Chapter 43

*a week later*
Kaitlyns pov

We got back around nine last night. We took the Padres series but the Dodgers swept us. It wasn't surprising considering the entire team hates Christian now. I was so tired last night I just got in and went to my bed and slept. Some of the guys were going out tonight and they invited me along. I really didn't want to go because I just wanted to be alone, but Jacob said I need to get out and relax. So I'm going with. They were going to one of their regular spots so I just met them there. I walked in and Jacob practically ran to hug me.

"Thank you for coming."

"Well you practically begged me to." He linked his arm around mine and led me to our table.

"Look who's here!"

"We figured since you ran away mid sentence." Tyrone said.

"Hey guys." I said sliding into a chair.

"We haven't ordered anything yet, we wanted to wait for you." Thames said.

It was me, Jacob, Tyrone, Thames, and Ryan. I sat between Jacob and Tyrone. Across from me was an empty chair. I was hoping it was just empty, and that he wasn't going to show up. We ordered our drinks and food and just talked. No one showed up, and the seat stayed empty. I was actually having a good time.

"So they basically tried to pants him?" Thames asked. I was telling the story of when the guys chased Cody around the tunnels after his pants fell down sliding to third during a Blue Jays game and tried to fully pants him afterwards.

"Yes exactly."

"They're nuts."

"Yeah they are!" We started laughing and then Thames suddenly stopped and his smile went away and was replaced with a mad, stern look. Ryan sat taller and Jacob, Tyrone and I turned around. There he stood at the waitress stand.

My heart started racing as I braced myself for an anxiety attack. Jacob was the only one who knew about the kiss. I turned back around and Jacob grabbed my hand.

"Why is he here?" Thames said turning towards Ryan.

"We didn't even talk about this near him." Tyrone said.

"You didn't invite him?" I asked.

"No because we knew you were coming, before I even asked you to." Jacob said looking at me.

"If she shows up I swear to god."

"I'll save you."

"Uh he's walking over here right now." Thames says.

"Hey guys, I didn't think you'd be here." He saw me and his smile faded.

"Oh, hey."

"Hey." I said as Jacob tightened his grip.

"So what are you guys doing?" He asked.

"Having dinner." Ryan said.

"Without you." Tyrone snapped.

"Why are you here?" Thames said giving him a death glare.

"Oh I'm just meeting a friend who's in town." He wasn't meeting a friend and I knew it. I knew who it was but the guys didn't seem to. At least they didn't show it.

"Yeah or is it the girl he fucked to shatter a gorgeous girls heart." I heard Jacob say it under his breath, but I heard it. I turned towards him and hit his shoulder.

"I heard that."

"SHIT YOU DID." I started laughing.

"Yeah I'm sitting next to you!"
