*the next day*
Kaitlyns povJacob spent the night last night after the cookout. He helped me clean this morning and start preparing the food for dinner. The guys would be here soon.
"You said they were taking an Uber right?" He asked.
"Yup. I told Cody we could easily take three people each but he was like 'I don't want you leaving to come get us just to go back' and I was like 'but we're okay with it because it's you guys' and he refused." Jacob laughed,
"I love him."
"Me too." There was a knock at the door. "THEY'RE HERE!" I yelled as I ran to the door.
"MY TINY MAJOR LEAGUE REPORTER!" Cody yelled as I opened the door.
"MY GIANT MAJOR LEAGUER!" He picked me up and spun me around. I missed him. "I've missed you so much." I said as he set me down.
"I've missed you too."
"So have we." Everyone said behind him. I laughed.
"I was gonna get to you guys next calm down. I missed you too don't worry." I hugged them each as they walked in.
"So what are you cooking us up today?" Kiké asked as they all sat around the island.
"Broiled chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, grilled veggies."
"Why didn't you order pizzas when there's eight of us." Gavin asked.
"I would but I like cooking. And I don't get to cook for a lot of people anymore so I took advantage of it."
"Fair enough." Gavin said.
"So, how have you been?" Walker asked.
"I've been good. Things haven't been that bad like I thought it would be."
"Really?" Corey said.
"Yeah. I focus on me. I've been happier I guess." I saw Jacob smile as he opened the fridge.
"Well that's good. You deserve it." Walker said.
"I'm happy you're happy." Will said. I smiled.
"Thank you."
"You're hiding something." Cody said abruptly.
"No she's not." Corey said.
"Yeah actually I am." Everyone looked at me including Jacob. "So, it's kind of part of the reason why I've been happier I guess?"
"Okay." Cody said. I took a deep breath.
"Just let me get through this and then you guys can ask questions."
"What is it?" Gavin asked. I bit my lip and looked at Cody.
"I'm seeing someone." I think they all stopped breathing. "I like him a lot. Actually if I'm being honest with you guys I love him. And he loves me too. And honestly he's been one of my rocks for a while now. When he asked me out it just felt right to go out with him, and I'm glad I did. I know you all have questions so ask them."
