*a few hours later*
Kaitlyns pov

I sat at the island just looking out at the city. Hailie was still out with Will, so I was alone. As I sat there I thought about tonight. I thought about the last few weeks. I thought about Christian, a lot.

Hailie walked through the door and snapped me out of the daze I was in. She had a huge grin on her face. "Well hello." I said. She leaned against the door.

"Hiiiii." She said as if she was on cloud nine. I chuckled.

"You gonna come tell me about your date or just stand there?" I said.

"Soooooo before I do, is it okay if I go spend the night? He wants to drive out to the beach and watch the sunrise with me."

"AWE HAILIE THATS SO CUTE OF COURSE!"

"YAY! AND HE'S PERFECT!" She ran to the stool next to me and sat down. "First of all he's super polite, like SO polite. Held all the doors, got the car door for me, all the manners. He asked to hold my hand, and I melted. Like that was so cute oh my god. He was just like 'is it okay if I hold your hand?' And I was like 'yes of course' even though on the inside I was screaming yes always hold my hand at him."

"That's so cute." I said.

"Oh it gets better."

"Well don't leave me hanging."

"Well he took us for burgers and fries and then we got ice cream after. And then we went for a walk in the park and talked about like, everything. Well then we just kinda stood there and looked at each other AND THEN HE ASKED TO KISS ME."

"SHUT UP!"

"NOPE."

"WELL DID YOU?"

"OF COURSE WE DID!"

"OH MY GOD HAILIE!"

"I KNOW!"

We both screamed.

"So then we talked about how we could make it work between us being apart and we,"

"Woah woah woah wait make it work?" I asked.

"Oh yeah I didn't say that did I? We're gonna go out again tomorrow after we watch the sunrise. We both said we wanna see where this could go."

"NO WAY."

"YES."

"Hailie that's amazing."

"Well it wouldn't of happened without you."

"I played Cupid oh my god, I'm gonna cry."

"Believe me so will I." Hailie said and we laughed.

"This is exciting. I'm happy for you!"

"I am too. He's super sweet and fun to be around and, ugh. Am I crazy for feeling this happy and giddy after one date?"

"Absolutely not." She got a huge grin.

"I'm dating a major leaguer."

"Yes you are. Look at you go!"

"Is this how you felt every time?"

"It was different each time, but something like that I guess."

It actually wasn't like that each time. I was only ever that giddy after I went out with Christian. I couldn't stop smiling once I got home. He was all I thought about afterwards. He still is all I think about.

"Well how was the party after we left?"

"Hm? Oh yeah it was good. Just all kinda hung around and talked."
