*five days later*
Kaitlyns povI stopped at Starbucks on the way to work. I got something for me and Jacob. We both needed a pick me up. Christian and I had another fight, a screaming match actually, the night we got back from the Boston series. I left his apartment in tears and called Jacob immediately. He came over and spent the night, and all day yesterday with me. I walked into my office and turned on the light.
"What the hell." On my desk sat a bouquet of flowers.
"Who's that from?" Jacob asked appearing at my side. I handed him his coffee.
"No clue. I just walked in."
"Same. Thank you, by the way."
"No thank you. You need it as much as I do."
He smiled knowing I was wrong and needed it more, but let it slide. I set my coffee and bag down and picked up the card attached.
"I know none of this is easy and I'm sorry. We'll get through this. - Christian"
I set the card down and sighed.
"It's from him isn't it."
"Yeah. He's probably gonna show up here soon. You might wanna go."
"Yeah I will. Thanks again for the coffee. See you later Kait."
"Bye Jacob."
I put my stuff away and moved the flowers to the side table so I could start work.
"Hey."
I looked up and Christian was leaning against the door.
"Hey. You can come in it's okay." He walked in and shut the door. "Thank you for the flowers."
"Yeah of course. I thought you'd like them."
There was a very weird energy between us. I didn't like it at all.
"I do. They smell pretty and help brighten up my office."
"Yeah that's what I thought too."
He looked tired. More than usual. I walked around and leaned on my desk.
"We'll figure this out." I said.
"Yeah I know." His voice was so quiet. He normally wasn't like that. I tilted my head and tapped his foot with mine. He looked at me. He looked like a sad puppy.
"Can I have a hug?"
"Always. You never have to ask that." I said as I stood up. I took a deep breath as he hugged me. He kissed my forehead.
"Have a good day."
"You too."
I watched him walk out and down the hall. I hated how we were right now. But if it's something we have to go through, we will.
