*a week later*
Kaitlyns povI woke up and remembered last night.
*flashback*
"I just don't get why you talk to them all the time still. Especially Corey."
"They're some of my best friends Christian. Cody's like my brother. Coreys my best friend. You know this. I'm not telling them things about the team, I wouldn't do that."
"But still, you're here now. You don't work for them or live there so why are you talking to him? To any of them?"
"So you're saying I'm not allowed to talk to anyone who isn't a Brewer?"
"I never said that."
"You're implying it."
"Whatever. I just don't get,"
"CHRISTIAN HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS. THEY'RE MY BEST FRIENDS. CODY IS MY BROTHER. I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG."
"Whatever."
"Fine whatever I'm leaving. I have work to do."
"Doesn't surprise me." I shook my head and slammed the door on my way out.
*end flashback*
I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. I loved Christian, but he overreacted. I had every right to still be friends with the Dodgers. He knew how close Cody and I were.
Today started the Yankees series and honestly I was excited. With or without Christian, I was going and meeting Giancarlo Stanton. He had reached out to me a few weeks ago and said he was excited to meet me here in Milwaukee. He had been watching what I was doing with the Dodgers and got excited when he found out I became a reporter for the Brewers. I wasn't sure why but I'm not complaining. He's Giancarlo Stanton.
I went and sat in the kitchen and checked all the final scores from last night and if anything big happened. Dodgers walked it off, Cody hit a three run bomb. "Well speak of the devil." As if he knew, he texted me.
Belli🤪: Goooooooooooood morning!
Me: Why are you up so early! But gooooooooooood morning to you too
Belli🤪: I'm getting pancakes to celebrate
Me: Yeah! I was just checking scores when you texted. Congrats!
Belli🤪: Thank you thank you. I saw you guys swept the Reds this weekend, congrats!
Me: Thanks!
Belli🤪: We were all talking about you before the game last night. We miss you. I miss you.I frowned. Cody wasn't one to show emotion, no matter what. Him saying he missed me must meant he really missed me. And that broke my heart.
Me: I miss you too. But hey, the asg is what? Two months away? We're almost there.
Belli🤪: I'm so excited to have you back. Even if you are gonna be around them and Christian for the stuff, I'm still gonna see you
Me: Oh for sure. I couldn't not be in LA and not come see my boys. I don't need my big bro getting mad at me
Belli🤪: I mean I wouldn't get mad, maybe upset
Me: Well still
Belli🤪: Alright champ well I'll let you go so you can get ready for today. I just wanted to say hey and that I missed you.
Me: I'm always down for that. Good luck today. Love you!
Belli🤪: Love you tooI set my phone down and looked at the picture of Cody and I that hung on the wall. I really missed having him around. I missed LA. I missed the Dodgers.
~
I got to the stadium and hung my blazer up so it wouldn't get wrinkled for the game. I sat down and started working right away since I didn't do anything last night. I don't know how long I had been working but Jacob walked in and got me to stop.
