"It's getting harder each day, so much harder. It drains me to have to constantly put up a mask, hiding how I really feel behind a smile that isn't even true. I don't think I'll ever find that easy, because it's not. The easy part for me is lying, i...
"Come downstairs now Cooper! We have to leave!" I picked up my last box, carrying it in my arms as I made my way downstairs. I set my box in the back of the van, glancing back at the house one last time. I won't miss this place, to me it just reeks of death. I have too many memories in which I want to leave behind with that place.
"Are you excited to move, Cooper?" My mom asked as we pulled away from the house, leaving it in our dust. I held a box of old things on my lap, the only memories I want to keep of that place. "Uh yeah I guess."
"You could at least act a little bit more excited Cooper." I scoffed before looking at my mother, plastering a fake smile. "Oh boy mom! I can't wait to move into this new house with four other mean, rude, boys! I just cannot wait any longer!" I said with heavy sarcasm, Chandler would be proud. "Honey... I know it's hard leaving the house, but I promise it won't be that bad living with your new step-brothers, they'll warm up to you."
"Yeah, when my corpse is in the fire pit, they'll be roasting marshmallows over me." Mom sighed, dropping the conversation as she knew I wouldn't even try to keep it up. I pulled out my headphones, listening to "my playlist" which consists of:
Shinedown Three days Grace Highly suspect Pearl Jam Disturbed Breaking Benjamin Seether 3 doors down Papa roach Sixx:A.M.
Yup, they are all Rock bands, the only genre I really listen to. I sat back and calmly listened to their music, letting my eyes slipped closed. I was listening to Cut the cord by Shinedown when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I opened my eye to see one of Harrison's sons, Carlos. I pulled out one headphone before looking at him. "What?"
"Your mom wants you dipshit, get your ass out of the car." I put my headphone back in before lifting my box up, carrying it as I made my way over to mom. "I didn't notice that box before, what does it have in it?" Mom asked as I approached her. "It has all of my Raman noodles in it mom." I said with a deadpan tone, mom just shook her head before dropping her interrogation. "Are you going to say hello to Harrison?" I turned to Harrison with a genuine smile. "Hey Harrison."
"Hey Coop." Harrison gave me a side hug before moving back to my mom's side. "Blake, could you show Cooper his room please?" The youngest boy, Blake, sighed before nodding his head. "C'mon." I followed Blake towards the house, only now noticing the huge house before me.

My god I bet the bathroom is bigger than my bedroom was. Blake led me up the stairs without offering a word, we walked past six doors before getting to one at the end of the hall. Blake opened the door for me and I walked in, noticing the theme straight away.
