*One month later*

Today is Felicity's birthday, I've had time over the last month to think. Yes, she hurt me. Yes, she doesn't like me... but I still want to wish her a happy birthday, just because she shunned me out doesn't mean I have to be an asshat.

So, I wrote her a card... although it's more like a letter. Something like this-

Felicity

I understand that you don't like me, I don't blame you for that. I probably pissed you off a million times but that's not what this is for.

Even though the past hasn't been so nice, I still want to wish you a happy birthday. I don't exactly have a gift, only this letter...

I hope you enjoy the future ahead of you, and that you make the most of what's to come. Enjoy the world while you are still young, not everyone gets that chance so take it while you can.

Don't ever let anything hold you back, don't let what people say put you down. Just live. Live in the hope that tomorrow will be a better, brighter day... do something I can't.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday, because today is about you.

ISLY
-Cooper.

Cheesy right? I honestly don't care because it came from my heart, something that is usually closed off and locked up. I placed the letter in my pocket as I made my way downstairs, everyone was in the kitchen having breakfast.

I grabbed an apple, that's all I really felt like eating. "You okay Cooper? You look like you haven't slept much..." Harrison said, I just nodded my head. "I had a nightmare is all, I'll catch up on sleep on the weekend."

I ate my apple, I felt my phone buzz. I pulled it out to see a text from Damian. I let out a cranky sigh at the fact Damian couldn't come in today, he's sick, again.

"What's the matter?" Blake asked, I placed my phone down, letting out a groan. "Damian's sick, again. By Christ I swear that boy is a breeding place for every bloody desease." I grumbled, I heard Harrison let out a laugh. "You can't blame him, he might just have a weak immune system, where you might barely get sick. People are different."

"Tell me about it." I muttered under my breath. I picked my phone up, placing it to my ear as it began to rang. "Hello?" Damian's very croaky and stuffed voice said, I laughed a little at the sound of it. "Jesus Christ you are sick aren't you..." I said, I heard Damian sigh. "Yup, dad left me at fucking Walmart in the shittiest weather."

You know that type of laugh where it catches you off surprise, and it kinda comes from like... the back of your nose and it almost sounds like a pig snorting...

Yeah that's what I did before I covered my mouth, trying desperately to hold in my laughs. "Oh har, har, har. Laugh it off why don't ya!"

"Oh I am laughing dear Damian. Jesus Christ how little clothes were you wearing to get that sick?!"

"I WAS LEFT THERE FOR TWO FUCKING HOURS!!" He shouted before he started to cough, I just barked out laughing. Laughing to the point where tears were in my eyes, I don't know why it was so funny... maybe because he sounded like a middle aged man when he shouted.

"Ok, ok... I'm fine now, I've had a good laugh... but you owe me for this." I said before hanging up. "And why does he owe you for this?"

"Because, it's rather boring at school when I don't have anyone to talk to. And unlike you mr popular, I only have one friend, not half of the school." I seethed out, Blake and Harrison looked at me confused. "What about Felicity?"

"It's complicated." I said, my voice dead as I spoke. I grabbed my bag as I rose from my seat, throwing my apple in the bin before going to walk away. "Cooper, if you ever need someone to talk to... we are here for you." Harrison said, Blake nodded in agreement. I looked back at them, I couldn't even force a smile... "I know."

With that I left, making my way to school as I listened to my music. I was so damn lucky that Ashton's little ink trick didn't ruin my wireless earphones, I would have lost it.

I came into the school, kids were swarming around the front like always. I kept my head down, that was always best. If my head was down, they wouldn't notice it was me, and if they didn't know it was me, then they won't start to attack me or anything.

I made my way towards my locker, grabbing the things I would need for the day before going towards Felicity's locker. No one was around, thankfully. I walked over, pulling the folded letter out of my pocket and slipping it through the door.

I quickly left, not feeling like hanging around for when the bell would ring. I made it to my first class, English. "Good morning sir." I said as I walked in, the teacher just grumbled in response.

I sat down in my seat at the back, turning my music up as I pulled out a sheet of paper. Anette behest whenever. I still don't know what it means... but Sam keeps repeating it whenever he comes to visit me... practically every night. He keeps saying those words, over and over again. Like he's teasing me.

"Anette behest whenever..." I muttered, listening to it from my own tongue. "Anette behest whenever, Anette behest whenever, Anette behest–"

"What jibberish are you speaking boy?" The teacher asked me, I guess I was far to loud. "S-sorry Sir, just trying to work out this..."

"What exactly is it?" The teacher asked as he stood up and walked over. "I-it's a Uh- it's an anagram s-Sir." I stuttered out, the teacher looked at the paper in front of me. "Where on earth did you find it?"

"I-I've been having dreams... this keeps popping up in them. The same person keeps saying it. I don't know what it means but I feel like I should..." I muttered, looking back at the page.

"How about this, you give me that paper and I'll help you try to crack that, but. You'll have to help the new girl out."

"Th-there's a new girl?"

"Yep! She's starting on Monday."

Fuck.
