C O O P E R
We got back to the house around lunch, Mom was in the kitchen with Harrison while Blake, Carlos and Xavier were in the living room. Felicity placed her bag by the door, along with mine. "Hey mom, we're back..."
"Oh! Great, you need to go get ready!"
"Why?"
"We are going to Harrison's parents house for a barbecue to celebrate Blake's birthday!" Mom said, I groaned slightly. "Don't groan Cooper, just suck it up and go get changed."
"What's wrong with my outfit?" I said, I was wearing my long sleeved white thermal, A black Metallica shirt, my black jeans and my blue ripped denim jacket. "What is right with your outfit?" Xavier said as he walked into the kitchen, I just glared at him.
"Seriously mom, why can't I wear this?" I said, pulling at my jacket. "Because it's too... dark?" I felt my face drop entirely, really? So now I can't wear what I'm comfortable with? "Felicity, could you please help me find something brighter to wear? Seeing how my current attire isn't acceptable?" I said, showing how pissed I was about this. Felicity nodded her head, pulling me upstairs. "Tell James he needs to get ready!" Harrison shouted, I stopped in front of James door.
"Hey James, we have to get ready to go to your grandparents house soon, you need to get ready." I said, James opened the door, giving me a weak smile. "Dude... have you slept? Like at all?"
"I was working on a bracelet, Zeke broke it after I had been working on it for three weeks, but I finished it two hours ago." He said with a smile, I felt my jaw drop. "I slept after I finished it, I'll be ready to leave soon, don't worry." James said, shutting the door in my face.
Felicity pulled me into my room, shutting the door before going over to my drawers. "I can't believe my mom won't just let me where this! And how is it 'too dark'?? It's just an outfit! I don't get why I can't just where it!!" I said, falling back into the bed.
Felicity kept looking through my clothes, occasionally looking back at me. "Do you have any red shirts?" Felicity asked, I shook my head, she thought for a second before walking to my door and opening it. "BLAKE!!" She shouted, making me jump slightly.
Seconds later, Blake was in front Felicity, a slight look of fear in his eyes. Felicity looked at him for a second, turning to me then back to Blake. "Red shirt please?" Blake nodded before walking away, he came back with a red plaid shirt. "Cooper, take your thermal off and put your Metallica back on and then take this." Felicity said, I gave a small pout before taking my jacket off and removing my shirt and thermal.
I threw the thermal into my laundry basket, I looked up at Felicity, I placed my Metallica shirt back on. Felicity threw the plaid shirt over, I put it on before turning back to Felicity. "Now what?"
"Unbutton the plaid shirt..." I did as she said, unbuttoning it so you could see my black shirt. "Okay, now put the jacket back on and leave it open..." I put my jacket back on, leaving it open like she had said. "Shoes?"
"I have some high top black and white vans?" I said, pointing to the shoes in the corner of my room. Felicity nodded, I walked over and put them on. I stood up, walking towards Felicity. She held a hand up, I stopped, giving her a confused look. "Spin around once..." I spun around slowly, a confused look still on my face.
"Perfect!! It looks great! The best bit is, you can still dress like yourself, just with a red shirt now." Felicity said, a small smile fell over my face as I walked over to her, giving her a bear hug. "Thank you Licity." I said, placing a small kiss on her cheek.
"Cooper! We are leaving soon!" Mom shouted, I rolled my eyes as I stepped back from Felicity, taking her hand in mine and walking downstairs. Mom looked up at me, a small smile on her face. "That's much better hon, I'm glad you changed your clothes."
"Little does she know I changed one shirt." I whispered into Felicity's ear, earning a small giggle from Felicity. "Oh, we can drop Felicity off on the way." Mom said, I nodded my head. "What car are we taking?"
"James, Blake, Carlos and Xavier will take James' car and you, Felicity, Harrison and I will take Harrison's car." Mom said, I nodded my head. "Right, let's go!" Harrison said, I took Felicity's bag to the car, hopping in the back with her.
James left first, Harrison following after. Felicity gave Harrison the directions to her house, it was a fairly short drive. Once we got there, Felicity and I got out. Me being the gentleman I am, got her bag for her.
We walked slowly to the door, talking about the small camping trip we had. "I had fun Cooper, thanks for inviting me."
"No problem Felicity, it wouldn't of been fun without you. Just sucks I have to go to some family thing today." I said with a small chuckle, earning a smile from Felicity. We got to the door, I handing Felicity her bag. The door opened, a woman, I'm guessing Felicity's mother, stood in the door.
"Ah! Felicity! You're back! Did you have fun?"
"I did mama!" Felicity said, her mom turned to me with a smile. "I hope she wasn't to much trouble, this girl gets so excited." She said with a small smile. "She wasn't a problem Miss Romano, in fact, she was quite fun to hang around with." I said, bumping my shoulder with Felicity's.
"Please dear, call me María! And feel free to come over anytime, you're always welcome here!"
"Thanks Miss Roma- Thanks María, Felicity and yourself are welcome to my home anytime." I said, smiling at Felicity.
I turned my head as Harrison honked the horn, sending me a playful smile while mom actually seemed impatient. I turned back to Felicity, pulling her into a hug. "I'll see you on Monday, I might text you later though."
"Okay, bye Cooper."
"Bye Felicity." I let go of Felicity, making my way back to the car. I had a small smile on my face as I got in the car, Harrison sent me a knowing look through the review mirror, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Right, let's go, we wouldn't want to be late right?" Mom said, I could hear the irritation in her voice, I rolled my eyes as I looked out at Felicity's house. Harrison pulled away, Felicity's house slowly fading into the distance. Once it was out of sight, I looked out of my window at the passing houses and cars.
Let's just hope this barbecue goes well...
