About an hour later, Mom, Harrison, James and Carlos came home. Mom greeted both Damian and Felicity before going into the kitchen to make dinner. "Uh, Where's Blake?" I asked. "Him and Xavier went to Zeke's place, but did you hear? Zeke pulled a prank on some kid, apparently it was a pretty good prank." Carlos said with a chuckle.
My face dropped, a frown forming on my face as I sunk into the couch. Felicity noticed, she came over and sat in my lap. My eyes widened a bit, not really expecting her to actually sit in my lap. She just ignored it and started playing with my hair.
I rested my head in the crook of her neck as my arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer to me. I heard a cough beside us, I lifted my head to see Damian looking at us with a smirk. "Yes?"
"Love birds!" He sang, I moved Felicity off of my lap as I jumped up, throwing a cushion at him. And so we both started hitting each other with the cushions, I managed to hit Damian in his jewels, causing him to hunch over and for me to burst out laughing.
"How the fuck can a cushion hurt that much..." Damian muttered, I just started laughing again. "It is all in the swing, young one. It takes time and effort to perfect the fatal nut swing." I said in the most serious way I could, there was silence for a second before Damian, Felicity and I broke out laughing.
After both Damian and I calmed down, I went back over to Felicity. Once I sat down, she crawled back onto my lap and started playing with my fingers instead of my hair. I looked at her with confusion, yet a smile was on my face.
She pulled at my fingers, pulling one this way and another that way. I let out a chuckle, causing her to look at me. "What is so fascinating about my fingers?" I asked, Felicity blushed slightly as she shrugged her shoulders.
"Dinner!" Mom shouted, I moved Felicity off of my lap, taking her hand as we walked to the dining room. "What's for dinner?"
"Chicken stir fry." Mom said, I sat down with Felicity on one side of me, Damian on the other. "So, how come Damian and Felicity came over?" Mom asked, looking at me with that 'you-better-explain-yourself' look. "Well, it was the last day, I decided that they could come over for a bit, besides... I'm sure Felicity has been dying to talk to another girl about her dress." I said, giving Felicity an 'I'm sorry' look.
"Okay I have this really cute purple dress that I'm going to wear with this matching mask but I don't know what shoes would work with it." Felicity said, giving me a look that said 'You owe me.'
Dinner went by quickly, us boys talked about video games, what we'd do for the holidays, blah blah blah. While poor Felicity and mom talked about the dance tomorrow.
After we finished, Felicity, Damian, Carlos, James and I went into the living room and started to watch tv. After a few shows, I heard the front door open and close. "We are back fam!" Blake shouted as he walked into the living room, I gave him a small smile but it quickly fell when Xavier walked in.
"Felicity, Damian I need you both upstairs so we can discuss the... weather..." I said, weather? Really? That was the best I could come up with? They both gave me a weird look, but made their way upstairs. I turned to mom who was giving me a weird look. "We uh... have... a... theory on... the... weather... so... I gotta go!" I said, quickly rushing from the living room and running upstairs.
I went into my bedroom, slamming the door shut and locking it. I let the mask I had on fall, showing my frown and the tears that glazed over my eyes. Felicity rushed over to me, dropping down beside me and wiping away the tears that fell. "Now I really do know that Xavier hates me... he was there when Zeke prank'd me, he didn't stand up for me, he didn't help, he just stood there... he was recording it as well... all of it." I said, bringing my knees to my chest as I tried my best to hold in my sobs.
Felicity didn't speak, there was nothing that could be said to make me feel better right now. "Do you want music on?" Damian asked, I nodded my head, he turned on my music. Felicity sat beside me, pulling me into a hug.
We sat like that for a while, Damian sitting in front of me while Felicity sat beside me. They stayed quiet, knowing that whatever they said wouldn't matter right now, all I needed was company. I'm not sure how long we were sitting for until someone knocked on the door. Damian paused the music as we all stood up, I opened the door to be met with Xavier.
"What?" I said harshly, showing how much I hate him. "Your mom said your two friends have to go home, her and dad will drop them off." With that Xavier left, I turned to my friends with a sigh. "Right, come on then." I said, Felicity and Damian grabbed their bags as they followed me out of my bedroom and down the stairs.
Mom and Harrison were already in the car, Damian gave me a fist bump before running off to the car, throwing his bag in and hopping in the back. Felicity turned around, holding her arms out. I smiled as I pulled her into a hug, resting my head on her shoulder. "Non credere a quello che ha detto Zeke, la gente ti ama Cooper, la gente ti vuole qui." [Don't believe what Zeke said, people do love you Cooper, people do want you here.]
"E se avesse ragione?" [But what if he is right?] I said as I stepped back, looking Felicity in the eyes as I could feel mine glazing over. She lifted her hands up, holding my face in her hands as she brushed her thumb over my cheek. "Solo tu puoi determinare cosa è guisto e cosa è sbagliato." [Only you can determine what's right and what's wrong.] Felicity said.
I lifted my hand up, holding one of hers as a tear slipped from my eye. She wiped it away, giving me a small smile. "Le persone ti vogliono." [People do want you.] With that, she placed a kiss on my cheek before making her way outside and getting into the car. I stood at the door, watching as the car drove off.
I felt a few stray tears slid down my face, my mind racing with that same one thought. What if he is right? I closed the door, wiping away one of the tears before turning to go upstairs. "Cooper?" I turned to where I heard Blake's voice, seeing my four step brothers staring at me as I walked. "I'm fine." I said in a monotone voice, I kept walking up the stairs, closing and locking my door.
I climbed onto my bed, bringing my arms around my body, hugging myself tightly as tears fell down my face. Those same five words repeating over and over in my head.
What if he is right...
