You were just a small, fragile and weak child back then. The parents to which you were born to, died of a illness they both had and left you on your own. The money you had only would be good enough for three days, and then you'd have to find a solution to survive. But that was all till a young boy appeared in the village. He had blonde hair with red tips and a smile so genuine, warm and kind. You never imagined someone looking so friendly since everyone treated you like trash. But the you boy was following an older man with the same features. That's when the younger boy pointed at you, making your heart beat faster than before. „Hello there little girl! I am Kyojuro Rengoku, and you are?". The only thing you thought of was 'wow..he is so nice' „I am (Y/N) and I live here in this hut". His smile fell as he took in what place you were in. „Father, can we take care of her? She isn't in good condition and needs help". The older male gave in and took you with them too.
From that horrible life you had, nothing could be compared to how you were warmly welcomed to the Rengoku family. They were all so nice and friendly it made you cry of joy. The bless you got was more than enough you'd ask for.

„Thank you for all you did that day. I know I repeat myself so often but I'm really thankful for that. When I was there, no faith and possibility, I thought it would be over soon. But yet you saved me and I am really happy about that". Giving him a more sad smile, he hugged you. „No need to thank me, I wanted to save you. And don't think you need to repay me for that. It's fine. Oh and I'll be going off soon to a mission. If you'd like you can accompany me". You nodded slowly yet scared of the weird feeling in your chest.

Akaza's hand penetrated through Kyojuro as your screaming became even more aggressive than before. You wanted to save him. His eye was gone and he had many several serious wounds, counting the big one on his stomach. „I would rather become old and boring and never a demon!!". And that's what shattered your heart into pieces. He truly did talk about the truth, you couldn't accept the faith he had taken upon himself. Akaza ripped off his arms and escaped the rising sun. Kyojuro sat down, clearly dying solwly. Running up to him, your tears were uncontrollably falling. „No no no no...please don't go!! I can't!! Please teach me more, I need to learn more from you!!". You yelled at him, it was no intention but your feelings fell out of control. But he still smiled... „Let's chat for a final time my dear kids. I will no longer accompany you. I truly am proud of you all...especially you (Y/N). Step into my footsteps...be the new flame hashira for me...will you?". His voice was so soft and getting more to a whisper each time he spoke. It was painful. Hurtin. Heartbreaking. „I-I...will...t-thank you so so m-much...thank y-you for...being the g-greatest father...figure to me...". Your sobs got louder and breathing was hard for you. Never ever did something hurt you so bad than his death. His soul left his body and he did die smiling, it hurt even more to tell the others about it...

You stood in front of the Rengoku estate that you had in lived for so long. It was now or never... Senjuro was cleaning the ground till he heard your heavy breathing. He was prepared to something..was he? „Come here...", he came closer and you tackled him in and tight hug, „I am so sorry...he, your brother is dead..". With that Senjuro cried, mourning with you. „He was so strong and he wants you to be even stronger..". He nodded and nuzzled himself more into your loving yet sad figure. His father cried alone, still not believing he didn't survive. Kyojuro's words lingered in his mind at made him even more sad than he was. The man got even more heartbroken than he is...
———— You took over the flame hashira position and fulfilled his duty on your own. Protecting weaker people was your first priority and he taught you like any good father-figure would. It was no wonder to the others, they respected that.
———— „I couldn't be even more proud than I am can I (Y/N)? You really surprise me even that I'm not there anymore..be strong like that forever and may your soul burn further in passion..".
