{before you've got turned into a demon}
Training kept the three of you awake, every single muscle hurting even down to the bones. Kaigaku was perfectly fine with it and pushed himself further to continue the work. You had been improving your sword movements and started to learn more on your own. Zenitsu on the other side struggled a lot. Even after so long, he only managed to master the first breathing technique. 'He can't do anything! What an idiot!' „(Y/N)-san! Are you coming? This loser can come when he finally gets the grip to master all styles like I did!". You didn't said a word but followed still, giving a pitiful glare at the blonde boy. He only sighed and watched as you and Kaigaku disappeared, leaving him completely out of your company. In your opinion, Zenitsu wasn't such a bad guy but his behavior and cowardly manner bothered you. Whenever training came, he'd yell and start to cry and whining about everything. You hated him yet not completely. You sat down on the opposite of Kaigaku as the both of you went to eat lunch.
The black-haired young ate in silence without exchanging a word with you. You, on the other hand, were just looking at your food. 'Shall I bring him something? He must be- NO! He can get it himself when he finally masters it.' While your thoughts confused you, Kaigaku had already finished lunch and was on his way again. „Don't even think about giving that moron anything! He's not worth it!". That's said, he strutted out again. You and Kaigaku were a little closer than with Zenitsu, but his hatred for him grew stronger every day. Kaigaku, as well as you, were children without parents and thanks to Jigoro could the both of three you finally have something like a family again. But that was far away what you wished for, because what would happen was even more tragically and sad. Sighing, you put away the food you've had because your appetite disappeared from thinking of that moron. 'I'm just wasting time! I should concentrate now and not let Kaigaku beat me!!' Walking out you saw how the black haired boy grabbed Zenitsu's hair, pulling and shaking wildly as he sobbed and pleaded him to stop. „Kaigaku!! Stop it already! You know it yourself that your more worth it than him, so stop doing that! He's just helpless that's all!!". Kaigaku let him go and as he came close to you, he 'tched'; „Are you protecting that scum here?!".
Your calm expression turned into a deep scowl. „Of course I an not! I am also training to become the best so just stop it and concentrate the training only on yourself and not others!". He looked as he wanted to say something, but then he just grabbed his sword and went away. „Y-you h-" „Don't ever think I am going to do that again. I still think the same as he does crybaby". And that was the last time he had saw you and Kaigaku. It's like you disappeared in dust without saying a word...
{present time}
You wiped off the dust on your 'uniform' as Kaigaku, the upper moon six appeared besides you. „Took you long enough!". You hissed at the fellow demon. „What?! I didn't come to hear you blabbering around everything. I gotta go and revenge myself". Wanting to stop him, he had already disappeared..and you knew to well what he wanted-Zenitsu Agatsuma. 'Gosh not that idiot again! But...I..can't just let him be..killed..I loved him...' Not long after the black haired demon disappeared, you quickly followed his scent. But then after a while his scent disappeared and you were standing in the middle of nowhere. Just a bunch of trees, a river and the moon that lit up the path a bit, but that didn't help much. Kaigaku was now gone to kill Zenitsu, and you couldn't help him. Your fists clenched as you gritted your teeth, your fangs clearly visible. „I must find that damn fool or my arrival will be too late!". That said, you sprinted as fast as you could to reach him again and stop him from that decision.
{time skip after Zenitsu defeated Kaigaku}
You caressed his scratched face slowly as you wrapped up the most wounded places on his body. 'He really beat Kaigaku...he is...dead...' A hoarse groan shot your attention back to Zenitsu, who slowly regained his consciousness back. With couple of blinks he was met with your face..your demonic face. „NOO NOT AGAINNN!!! I ALREADY BEAT UP HIM AND NOT YOU NOW!!! WAHH WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME!!!??". You slapped him on the head so he'd finally shut up. „Zenitsu I am aware of that myself. So please stop screaming like a dying goat! Let me explain..this here". You sighed, pointing at yourself and starting to tell him why that happened. Throughout your whole story telling, the blonde boy listened closely and careful. „And that's why...this happened. The thing I came here was also because...I have...I loved you...but I guess that Kaigaku..got me manipulated easily. Sorry Zenitsu..". His eyes widen in shock, a relieved one though. He never expected something like this and from you, never. Out of nowhere, he put a hand on your shoulder, a small smile on his face. „I'm somehow happy you said that, but your still...a demon". You shared a look of sympathy towards him; „I know very well what I am, but please..give me a chance..please!". ———— Time has passed by quickly from the day on where you 'saved' Zenitsu. With a little hesitation, Tanjiro wholeheartedly accepted you as Inosuke tried to do as well (he failed the first few weeks but got the grip soon-thanks to Tanjiro). You held onto Zenitsu's haori, pulling him backwards here and there. „Whoa-what are you-". Groaning softly, a blush came onto your face. „Your always..near them and other girls!! I..hate that feeling inside me..". As he processed what you were saying, he got all lovey dovey. Zenitsu jumped around happily as hearts fluttered around him. „Ahh (Y/N)-chaaannn!!! Your so CUTEEE!!! I'm melting~!!". You just looked completely lost and confused what had caused him to react that way. 'Did I say something wrong?' He jumped back up from the ground and went in for hugging you-which you accepted even if it annoyed you. „I love you too (Y/N)-chaaann!!!". Your stomach erupted into butterflies as the pink dust has risen up yet again up your cheeks. „I-idot...I didn't meant it that way...ugh!", you looked at him with a scowl, „yeah yeah okay! I love you, you stupid moron!". He grinned widely while humming happily. And from then on, Tanjiro and Inosuke took their distance when you would get clingy and 'possessive' over him.
'He may be an total idiot and crybaby sometimes, but he still is my stupid idiot just like back then. I just wished Kaigaku would have chosen a different way..'
