It wasn't long ago when you suddenly found a 'floating' house that was held by spider webs. It interested you, yet the same time your feeling that one or more demons lurked here wouldn't disappear. On a casual winter night, you had decided to go up the Natagumo Mountain and see if anything had happened since the last time you've visited. Most people of your town/village warned you many times before that you will get killed at some time for acting so foolish and not listening to them. It didn't mean a lot to you because since your parents and two siblings were murdered one night, everything seemed so lifeless to you. 'I only care to live freely without any rules and all by myself. It's my responsibility if something happens..but it's totally okay for me' ~~~~ As you slowly reached the destination of the 'house', there were faint voices that were heard in a distance not far from you. Carefully you hid behind a large tree, that perfectly hid you, and started to peek your head to the side and see from who the voices were. A gross looking, not to mention large spider human hovered over a child, like it's taking orders from it. As the large spider disappeared, the child turned around since he somehow felt a presence watching him, but you successfully turned back so he couldn't see you. But you were dead wrong.
„What are you doing here? Go away and don't disturb my family". The voice of the boy behind you said, calm yet threatening. Shivers slowly ran down your spine but deep down..you felt not a little bit scared. As the boy didn't get an answer, he got slightly mad. Footsteps approached you and were coming nearer and nearer. „Didn't I tell you to leave?". His voice now more angrily repeated, as he slowly took in your appearance. And it surprised him that it was you again. The same girl that has been coming here now for over almost two years! Rui couldn't quite figure out to why you've come here anyway since they could practically kill and eat you. But nobody of them did... „I don't know myself to why I always come here. I feel so nostalgic walking in these woods. They remind me of two people I lost..my siblings..". Rui's eyes widen at the mention of the words siblings. „Tell me your name girl. My name is Rui". Feeling no hesitation anymore, you dared to look up at his eyes. They were different. His eyes were a nice shade of blue with dark red sclera. Even more beautiful from near sight. Since you've only could study him and the other's you saw here and there, you never had the chance to observe his face fully.
„(Y/N) (L/N). But call me (Y/N)...I prefer to hear that then my family name". A sparkle in your eyes told him that you were no danger to them, also that you weren't a slayer or a hashira. „Do you want me to leave or rather devour me?". Rui blinked a few times and tilted his head a bit to the side, you watched him and thought that he actually looked cute. „Why are you asking me that? After watching me and my family and not informing a slayer is not like what I see everyday. So why do you keep coming here?". You slowly stood only to be taller as him. „I...miss my family. I lost them...I don't know what to do but when I see you, I'm glad that you're still here". 'This is impossible...why is this so touching..? This girl..I want her in my family...' Rui snapped back from his thoughts and observed your figure, a guilty feeling rising up his spine. „You can be part of my family then (Y/N). But I consider to let you stay human and not to let you go through the usual process I make when others join the family". He already had thought through to that your going to reject this, and he would just kill you and act like nothing ever happened, but what you did was indeed stunning to him. „I would be glad to join you Rui...it's not a lie. I would be glad". Your soft voice calmed him down and his mouth fell agape.
„Y-...Your seriously with...that?". His voice cracked slowly, feeling so moved that (Y/N), the girl who watched him had only now offered to be part of his family. He was shocked and surprised but got himself together and nodded. „If you say so (I had the Japanese version playing as I wrote this lol), then give me your hand". You grasped his hand slowly and caressed it gently with your thumb. He flinched but soon felt so touched again of how sweet your gestures were. „You...really are going to...stay here with me?". You the proceeded to hug Rui, drawing circles on his back; „Of course I will stay...I feel a connection to you and it makes me happy to have a little sibling again". The faint smile on your made his eyes watery and so his tears started to fall. He hugged back, holding your taller frame closely to himself as his silently sobbed. „Nobody ever...did this for me...I feel glad you'll stay here..(Y/N)". Breaking the hug, you took his face in your hands and wiping his tears away.
„I will stay as long as I can. I'll be here for you whenever you need me Rui...I'll be there..."
