Another day passed with you laying exhausted on your cold, wooden floor in your estate. Yet again a day where you failed to make a certain and special person smile. 'Am I the problem or am I just to incompetent..? Or is he just to cold?' Letting your thoughts wander to different case scenarios and just laying there comforted you..in a weird way. But you couldn't just do nothing because, there still were more ways to go for you and try it out. The worst thing would be for either of you to get killed without you making him laugh or even just smile a bit. And you would not like that scenario at all, never ever. You stood up, fixing your clothes and went out again for an little adventure. Your mission: 'Find something out that can make the water hashira smile!'. And so your spying started and poor Tanjiro was the one also bringing you new informations in if he did found out something. And just for that it was enough for you, as long as he didn't went to a mission.
The plan neither was good but not bad at all, yet the worst was; you shouldn't act too suspicious. 'Why am I even saying that? He never notices it..except the other's do...unfortunately' You wandered to the main meeting place to see if someone you searched was there. But he wasn't. Instead a cheerful voice greeted you, the love hashira's. „Hello (Y/N)-chan!!! How are you doing? Oh and why do you look so tired? Is something wrong? Can I help y-". You cut her off with your hand over her mouth while giggling. „Nothing's wrong, no not at all. I'm just trying to fulfill my duty by making, you know him smile. And it's just such a handful!". Mitsuri nodded and put a hand over her chin as you detached yours away from her mouth. „Well..good question. You should maybe try and talk to him at lunch? Or accompany him at a mission..? Oh! Or ask him out..maybe?". She fiddled nervously with her hands upon seeing your facial expression. But as soon you interrupt in laughter, the pink haired woman felt a weight being lifted off of her shoulders. She knew you had a big liking towards the cold and distant water hashira, but that you laughed at her ideas showed her you weren't mad at her for saying so.
„I will definitely do something from your suggestions!! After all your the love hashira". She covered her face as it turned a deep shade of red. After some more chatting, you thought about 'accidentally' going in the same place to eat as Giyu, and of course join him. „That's a brilliant plan! Yet I have to find out when and where he goes..damn it!!". But that little problem didn't stop you from turning your preplanned idea into reality. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and there was no way you could pass it up. Giyu may have been cold and 'mean' to the others, but there is still a reason for it, which is sad. He had once given you a little insight into his past, and you wanted to finally change the darkness in him...into bright and warm light. Just as you were leaving, the black-haired male came out of nowhere and stood next to you. „I'm going to the little town". And with that said, he disappeared without saying another word.
'This is it! The chance I've been waiting for!
And so you didn't waisted more time thinking and followed him to where he headed. It wasn't a long time until you've arrived at the small town where Giyu probably was. The town had a lot of food stands and many many different accessories' stands too. It was full of shining lights and different kinds lamps on the side ways. And the as you suddenly looked to the left side, you saw Giyu eating? When you realized that it could finally happen, a light sweat ran down your forehead. 'Now or never..' Slowly but relaxed you approached him at a normal pace. When you reached him, you sat down in front of him ad he just looked at you in complete surprise. „Uhh! That looks delicious!! I hope I'm not disturbing you... what are you eating by the way, it makes me hungry too". Giyu looked at you for a while as he swallowed the rest of his food. „It's salmon and radish..nothing special though". You looked at him confused and thought about your next words quite well. „Huh? How can that not be special to you if you like it so much? Then, my favorite salad is something boring and normal, right?".
He gazed into your (e/c) eyes as you chuckled softly, a tiny red blush appearing on his face. „I don't get your sense of humor (Y/N)-san. What are you trying to tell me?". His words froze you as your face turned a bright shade of red. By instinct you covered your face and waited for a comment from Giyu who will surely expose you like the idiot you are. But instead of that, you heard a laughter. His laughter. When you raised your head and saw Giyu, a smile automatically appeared on your face. You made him laugh..really? Over something super embarrassing and idiotically of you, and he found that funny? Your heart beamed with pure happiness and it's like a long life dream came true. When his laughter came to an end, you both looked at each other calmly. You slowly leaned over to him as he imitated your movements at the same time. Before your lips met, he whispered one thing to you:
„Thank you...(Y/N)-san..."
