15. Sadly Even more Repurcussions

I was sitting in Central Park, eating a bagel. Don't ask me why I just had this weird craving for a bagel and some fresh air, when a woman came and sat down on the bench beside me.

She was holding a baby while struggling to answer her phone.

"Shhh come on Josh just let Momma get this phone call." She said bouncing him slightly, but he began crying.

"Is your phone call important?" I asked the woman. She turned to me shocked.

"Um yes it's about a job offer." She said looking desperate, I knew with today's economic climate when you get a call for a job if you don't pick up the phone it's gone.

"I'll hold him." I said stretching out my arms. She looked sceptical at first but then she saw my baby bump and nodded, she handed Josh over to me and grabbed the phone quickly.

"This is Jane." She said before launching into a long conversation.

I held Josh who was still a little fussy but manageable while his mother spoke on the phone. He really was an adorable baby, soft feathery blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, which I could tell he got from his mother. I was gently bouncing Josh when I felt someone sit on my other side.

"Who did you steal the baby off of?" Jacob asked biting into an apple. I pulled my index finger up to my lips indicating for him to be quiet, before jerking my head towards, Jane who was still on the phone.

"Yes, yes thank you so much. You won't regret it." Jane said before shutting her phone. "I got the job." She said triumphantly.

"Congratulations. I'm Bella by the way." I said handing her back her baby.

She slapped her hand to her forehead before smiling. "Jane and this is Josh." She said holding out you hand for me to shake.

"This is Jacob." I said pointing to him.

"Nice to meet you." He said waving.

"You too, thank you for holding him. I'm new to the city and let me tell you you're the first person to show any amount of kindness at all." She said smiling.

"No trouble I only hope that someone will help me when this little one comes." I said pointing to my stomach.

"How far along are you?" she asked.

"Five months." I said.

"And are you the father?" she asked Jacob, who snorted at the question.

"No." I said as I hit Jacob for being rude. "Jacob plays for team unicorn." I explained.

"Oh right." She said nodding.

"This is the baby's father." Jacob said randomly grabbing a passerby; I looked up and saw Edward who looked majorly confused.

"Did you know he was coming or was that a really coincidence?" I asked Jacob.

"I thought I was going to grab a hobo." Jacob said looking shocked at his new found ability. "I must go and tell all I have the power to conjure people. Bye Baby Cakes, Baby Cakes Jr, Number Five, Jane and Josh." He said before skipping out of the park.

"What just happened?" Edward asked looking after Jacob confused.

"I don't know." I said still freaked out by the coincidence "Edward this is Jane and Josh. Jane this Edward, he's the baby's father."

"Oh right." She said as she tried to wipe drool off the baby's face, that would be me in a few months and oddly enough I couldn't wait.

"Nice to meet you." Edward said.
