Taking a deep breath I walked up the front steps on the huge daunting house.
I knocked on the door and waited.
"Hello?" The butler asked opening the door.
"Hi, I'm Mr. Dwyer's eldest daughter I'm here to see Mrs. Dwyer." I said and he nodded.
"Right this way Miss." He said and I followed him inside. I cringed as I walked through the lavish overly decorated house.
"Excuse me Ma'am Mr. Dwyer's daughter is here to see you." The butler said as we walked into a giant conservatory. It looked like it should be attached to Buckingham Palace not a mansion in the Upper East Side of New York.
"Thank you Jeffery, please fetch us some refreshments and that will be all." Sue said standing up. I handed my coat to the butler "Please Isabella sit." She said gesturing to the couch across from her.
"Thank you but can I ask you call me Bella, I haven't gone by Isabella in a long time." I said and she nodded.
"Your father tells me you took to mother hood like a duck does to water how old are the children?" she asked.
"Annabelle turned one year old the other day and Eddie is eight months old, his birthday is in February." I said and she nodded.
"It's an irony that you yourself ended up having children four months apart from each other." Sue said.
"I had never thought about that but yes it's true it seems ironic." I said. "Dad tells me you were upset the other day." I began. I had come for Charlie's sake so far she had been civil but it could turn easily with Sue.
"Was I Dear?" she asked.
"He was at my house for Annabelle's birthday party and he got a phone call from you. He told me afterwards you were quite upset with me." I said and she nodded.
"Bella I know I ruined your childhood. Believe me I know." She said and I nodded my head "But I was not alone in that. Your father and your mother made the choice to bring you into a dissolving marriage knowing full well things were rocky. I'm not saying they shouldn't have had you but the choice to have another child was a bit of a hasty one. The fact that everyone from your father to Leah has been forgiven on this matter is great. I encouraged all of it Bella but I want to know why I haven't been forgiven."
"You haven't asked for it." I said.
"If I did would it matter?" she asked.
"I don't know." I said "But when I became a mother I realised that I couldn't let petty feelings affect my children having people surrounding them who want to love them and protect them." I said swallowing my pride.
"I know Leah told you about the situation here the other night. I had been drinking and I said something I didn't mean. I know a drunken state is supposed to open up the mind of a person but I never meant what I said about you, Leah or Seth. I'm still grovelling to my poor son. Leah's got tough skin though. I think with Seth it's all still new and fresh."
"I get that. Sue things didn't improve with me and Leah or me and Dad straight away so it's something we will both have to work on but I'm open to working on it." I said.
"Thank you." She said. "You may have just saved my marriage." She said and I nodded. "You and your husband... what is the boys name it escapes me?"
"Edward" I told her and she nodded.
"You and Edward along with the children are should come to dinner on Sunday. Leah is going to drag Seth and his..."
"Jacob" I said and again she nodded.
