I quietly stood against the wall at the back of the room, I didn't want to be here, I could be doing something productive or... reading, probably reading. A brunette came up to my with drinks in hand. "My... you are handsome, I brought you a drink."
I glanced down at it and shook my head. "No thanks."
She pouted. "It's just a drink..."
I met her gaze. "Go find someone else."
Her eyes glazed before she turned away to do just that. I hated that I had to order someone to leave me alone, it was annoying. I actually felt more annoyed than usual and had since I got here, it was strange. I shook the feeling and went back to watching the crowd until a few men seemed to get distracted in the front.
I watched carefully, they would pause as though they smelled something, but a few seconds after continue, shaking their heads, no women did this. "It can't be..."
Soon, they were just stopping altogether and staring at the stage. That's when my heart stopped as a redheaded girl stepped on the stage, I recognized her instantly. She had a small smile and bowed as a silver haired girl went straight to the piano. I couldn't breathe, I was happy I had the wall to support me because I would have fallen at the sight. "Violet... my mate."
Even from here, she was gorgeous. However, her attire seemed odd. Seeing as it was summer, I found it interesting that her dress was a grey with some silver shimmering when she moved. I glanced around and noticed everyone had bold, bright colors on.
Even Aurora matched the people around me. Uh... that's strange... As they began, I smiled as the music seemed dark and cryptic when she took the lead. Again, the exact opposite of the event.
I shook my head. She's doing this on purpose... Not that it mattered as everyone danced and looked happy. I kept my eyes on her, plotting ways to get to her when she finished. She never came to join the crowd and her pack security was airtight.
Rumors surrounding her spoke to as much. No matter who tried to get close, they were denied. The few who tried to challenge them ended up beaten within an inch of their lives. It was one of the things that kept me sane, her pack protected her.
Still, no one seemed to know her name or the name of her pack. Their location was also unknown. There were those who swore she lip synced if they caught her off stage because she didn't talk, her brother and best friend covered that. She had earned titles for herself and her pack. Little Alpha, Ice Princess, Silver Fairy, Rogues, and Shadows, were the ones I most often heard.
As they came to a close I moved forward, on edge. I didn't know the greeting I received, especially since I was sure she would beat my ass for that kiss. I went anyway, I couldn't let her slip through my fingers again.

Aurora spun as we exited the stage. "We killed it!"
I smirked. "We always do. I thi-"
"You are going out there, Zee. We compromised."
I frowned at my twin. "Fuck you and your compromise."
Aurora looped her arm through mine. "Come on just a few hours."
I sighed and let them drag me out into the crowd. I ignored those that glanced our way until someone stepped in front of us. "You both played beautifully."
I looked up at the tall man and signed. "Thank you."
He blinked. "A mute?"
Aurora smiled, eyeing him. "How may we help you?"
