After showering, Ezekiel just held me until he fell asleep, letting me process in silence.  It was nice and I was happy to be with him, but he was right.  This was a lot... an unknown amount of vampires now bore the Moon Mark.  I sighed, looking at Ezekiel's Mating Mark.

I didn't regret saving Apollo, his death would have been pointless, but he'd have to keep his coven in line.  I couldn't possibly keep track of all of them.  Now, the matter of having two races that hated each other live in the same territory, Apollo clearly has an aversion to wolves, his snide comments at Ezekiel were enough.

Unlike us, he was kind and for the most part patient.  The quick tempers of my pack, probably my fault, would not make things easy if all of the vampires spoke so freely.  It wasn't that insults bothered us, we found them funny, most of the time, but we were literally created to keep them in check and later vice versa.  The races were to hold each other accountable, not live as one.  I couldn't come to a solution other than playing the bloodthirsty Alpha that the world had come to know me as.

A headache started to form as I thought about all of it.  Everything was happening too fast, I couldn't keep up.  Ezekiel kissed my forehead.  "Relax."

I peeked up at him.  "I can't..."

He smiled softly and lifted me from the bed.  "I think I can help with that."  He carried me into the hall and growled when he saw Apollo standing outside the door.  "This is inappropriate."

He gave him a careless expression.  "We don't need sleep, standing guard outside my master's door is perfectly appropriate."

I punched Ezekiel's chest as he went to retort.  "Stop it, he's doing what they do, but Apollo, you don't need to do that."

He bowed his head.  "I mean you no disrespect, but I wish to guard you."

I sighed.  "Then at night... let's try not right outside the door."

He tilted his head.  "If it's the sou-"

I blushed.  "Goddess don't say it.  Not within earshot dammit."

I saw him fighting to maintain his indifference.  "As you wish.  Can I help you with something?"

Ezekiel looked up and down the long hallways.  "The kitchen..."

He nodded.  "I'll take you to the closest one."

I tried to get down, but Ezekiel held firm.  "I'm not a child."

He smiled down at me.  "Nope, but you are a princess."  I rolled my eyes as he sat me in a barstool and began to rummage.  "For people that can't eat they have a lot of food."

I balanced my chin in my hand, watching him.  "They can eat, just lacks taste without blood."  He paused and pulled out a garlic bulb.  "Myth."

Apollo was watching us.  "You know more than I thought... if you just ask I can get you what you need."

Ezekiel thought for a moment, then sniffed the air.  "I got it."

"Filthy mongrel is getting his stench everywhere."

He spoke under his breath, but I heard him and glanced at him.  "I'm a wolf too, Apollo.  I stink just as bad I'm sure."

He blinked.  "No, actually.  Even before the mark your scent is pleasant.  Light and sweet, if not for his I wouldn't have been able to track you."

Ezekiel frowned.  "Let's not talk about that."

I rolled my eyes.  "It's not like I can change it, Love."

He kissed my cheek as he started to warm up milk.  "I know, but enough wolves follow it, not appreciating it can attract vampires as well."

"Whatever..."
