Everyone had come and marveled at the makeshift castle they would hide in. My mom came up and smiled. "This is really nice."
I scowled. "It's entirely too much."
She blinked. "You didn't..."
I glared at where Ezekiel was talking to William. "That asshole did it."
She giggled. "It was very nice of him."
I groaned. "She's three and she'll be spoiled rotten if he has any say in it."
I looked around as I felt a shift in the air to see Viorel approaching him. I felt Ezekiel's apprehension and could only assume that he asked to talk as they left together. "Violet?"
I ripped my eyes away from where they left. "Why is he even here?"
She sighed. "He is her father."
I sighed. "I suppose."
I turned as I felt Toni approach. "Everything's good back home. This is nice..." I rolled my eyes and he chuckled. "Not your doing, clearly."
I side-eyed him. "Completely unnecessary."
He put a hand on my shoulder. "He loves her because you do."
I scowled. "Doesn't have to spend an obscene amount to show it."
He laughed. "Everyone shows it different, I'm sure that necklace costed a pretty penny."
I flared my nostrils. "He got it to match an outfit, but wouldn't tell me how much..."
He looked at it. "Snowflakes though?"
I smirked. "I'm known as the Ice Princess. Wanted to play the part for a night."
He shook his head. "Well maybe a different necklace..."
I glared at him. "No, he has bought enough."
"Really? Like what?"
I pursed my lips. "Not telling."
My mom was suddenly interested. "Didn't he get Zoey that outfit for the ball."
I threw up my hands. "I'm not talking to you two anymore."
She giggled. "Yours too, I'm sure."
I opened my mouth then felt a sudden disgust and anger. "Not answering that, but I swear if those two fuck this up for Zoey we'll both be mateless."
She followed behind me as I stalked to where the two men were talking. I caught Ezekiel's tense profile and flared my nostrils as Viorel stepped towards him. I stood between them and crossed my arms. "If you two don't calm down, you can both leave."
Ezekiel was staring daggers at Viorel. "He-"
I turned to him. "I really don't give a shit. Today is about Zoey and if you can't let it go until after, you need to leave."
He softened at the sound of her name and relaxed as he looked at me. "You're right. I apologize."
Viorel chuckled behind me. "Not even your child and you back down..."
I glared at him. "The same goes for you. Stop causing trouble on your child's birthday or I will personally see to it that you leave."
He frowned. "A child I never wanted."
I sneered. "Well may need to learn to use protection or better yet, get your balls chopped off. Not doing you much good anyway."
His eyes flashed red. "You..."
