I checked the rearview to see Zoey sleeping. I side-eyed my phone as it chimed for the 10th time. "I swear if that's him, I'll wring his neck."

10 minutes later, I pulled up to the hotel and checked it. I blinked as only the first was from Ezekiel.

AAF: Drive safe, Princess.

Zay: What time is it tomorrow again?
Did you really leave the night before... with Zoey?
Where the fuck are you?!

Mom: Thank you for taking Zoey for the weekend.
If you need anything call.
Are you sure you want her at a ball?
Drive safe, Sweetie.

Viorel: Do you not trust us with our child that you would ruin your image and bring her to a ball?
We could have kept her during as always.
Are you not speaking to me now?

I facepalmed and jumped when someone knocked on my window. Playful green eyes peered in at me and I cracked it. "Sorry, whatever you're selling we don't want it."

He smiled. "Well... don't kill me."

I gave him a suspicious look. "And why would I kill you, Ezekiel?"

The mischief in his eyes had me curious. "I may have canceled you reservation here."

"Ezekiel! The fuck?" I glanced back at Zoey who stayed sleep.

He pouted playfully. "I have something so much better."

I blinked. "Where will Zay stay? He comes tomorrow."

He smirked. "Scoot over."

I looked at him like he grew two heads. "No. Zoey's in here."

He sighed. "I'll drive carefully and you don't know where we're going."

His excitement was enthralling, but I pursed my lips. "I've seen you drive... no."

He drummed his fingers on the door. "Please... it's not far."

He gave me a puppy dog face and I rolled my eyes. "Cute, but you got nothing on Zoey."

He beamed. "You think I'm cute."

"That's not what I said."

"Yes, yo-"

"Vivi..." Zoey whined. "I'm hungry."

I looked at her through the rearview. "In a bit, Ladybug."

She scowled. "Make him go away so I can eat."

Ezekiel dropped his head. "If your sister would move over so I can drive. You could eat."

She sighed. "Why are you here?"

He chuckled. "Well... this is my pack's territory..."

Her eyes widened. "What?! Vivi, take us home now!"

I dropped my head to the steering wheel. "You just had to tell her... you just had to open your mouth..."

"Vivi! I don't wanna stay here! We have to go back!"

My massaged my temples feeling Ezekiel's surprise. "Zoey..."

"But Vivi..."

"We go on Sunday. Stop that, we're not staying forever."

"You promise?"

I turned and met her eyes. "Yes, Ladybug. Our pack is back home."

She beamed. "Okay, feed me now."
