I felt him long before I saw him and looked up expectantly. He felt at peace with whatever just happened. He smiled when he saw me and paused at my barrier. "Gonna let me in?"
I frowned. "What you did was reckless."
He dropped his head. "I had to do it, My Love."
I looked him over. "Are you hurt?"
He shook his head and I attacked him as soon as the shield fell. He grabbed my wrist as I struck at his chest and torso before pulling me into a hug. "I'm sorry to make you worry."
I hugged him tight. "Wh-"
He sighed. "Brenda and Alicia's families along with others who were against everything going on. About a quarter of my pack is dead."
I looked up at him. "I'm sorry..."
He smiled. "I'm not."
I rubbed my face in his chest as he looked towards the territory. "What was burning?"
"Our houses and the packhouse. We got the flames under control before they could spread." I nodded, breathing in his scent, thankful he was safe. "We need to go and address the packs."
I sighed. "I know." I shook myself and stepped out of his hold. "Then, I can kill you."
He chuckled and laced his fingers through mine. "Of course."
Everyone was waiting for us and I took a step back as Ezekiel addressed his pack. He gave me a curious look and I gestured for him to speak. He sighed and turned. "We were attacked by our own tonight..." Growls filled the night air and Ezekiel held his hand up. "We found and eliminated the threat, the Rogers and Carmichael family were among them.
Silence fell and Ezekiel looked over his pack. "Along with others who vehemently against my mate and anything having to do with her. Their aim was to kill her." I watched as anger crept into not only their faces, but my pack's as well. I said nothing, we would not attack unless provoked.
Ezekiel allowed his aura to trickle into the masses and I was proud, it was controlled unlike before. "If there are any remaining who would think of attempting the same feat or feel that what I did was unjust, I suggest you leave now or meet the same fate."
Apollo took a step closer to me and I glared at him. We will not interfere... Shock painted his features along with every vamp's that stood below, but they followed the order regardless. It was tense and silent, Ezekiel walking slowly as he closed his eyes in thought. "I'm only going to say this once. Violet is my mate, I want no one else, anyone who tries to make an advance on me from this night forward, will be exiled. If you try to harm her or Zoey, you will be executed."
He looked at each of his pack members. "If you feel that this is too much leave, if you don't want to work together as two packs leave, if you don't want me as your Alpha leave."
I controlled my face as no one moved, just stood silently waiting for him to speak again. If I was ever proud of him before this... I was elated, proud, and I knew without a doubt I loved him now. He gave a single nod. "Very well, be on time and in formation Monday. Go home and get some rest."
I nodded to my pack that they could do the same and the most radiant smiles broke out on their faces as they started cheering. I wrapped my arms around Ezekiel, smiling. "I love you."
He looked dumbfounded before his smile almost split his face in two. He kissed me hard, which only resulted in louder cheering. "I love you too."
I blushed, pouting and broke away from him. "Yeah... don't get used to that."
He lounged and grabbed me up again, making me giggle as he nuzzled my neck. I felt us jolt. "Took you long enough man."
