She was in danger... she was always in danger, that didn't change once she left here. The more I learned the worse my fear for her got, but she didn't seem all that fazed about the fact that her own father, would...
No, this was her norm at this point. The man that raised her tried to kill her wolf, now her birth one was trying to overthrow her. I clenched my jaw as I thought about Zoey, she was innocent and he... it was too much to take in, but this was Violet's life she fought for a child before she was even born, taking on her along with her pack.
My mate was strong, I always knew that and it touched me to know that she trusted me with Zoey. She seemed so sure that she had him handled though, it was baffling. He was as good as dead as soon as the time was right? Why not just kill him now, she had the proof. Then, it struck me, her set of morals I knew nothing about. She could kill him, but William said it was a sacred act, an offering. She was waiting for when she was allowed to kill him.
When we got back William and Xavier were in deep conversation and Zoey ran up to us. "That's wolves, ZeeZee."
I felt as Violet's emotions went from contemplating to love at just the sight of her. "Are you having fun, Ladybug?"
She nodded. "Danced with ZayZay and Will and then they sent some girls away."
I gaped. "You danced with William?"
She beamed. "And he can dance too!"
I chuckled, actually jealous that I was the only one that had to fight for this girl to like me. But there was logic behind it, none of them were trying to court her sister. "Well, may I have this dance, Princess?"
She nodded and reach for me. "Sure!"
Violet let me take her, going to join our Betas as she watched. Funny, I never held such a long conversation with her brother, nor one so serious. When she joined it still flowed naturally, Xavier wasn't exactly watching his every move, but if what William said was true, he knew he didn't have to.
Then I took note that her twin didn't seem bothered by everyone around him, most guys would be looking for a girl, but even when some came, he sent them away. He did participate, that much I knew, but... his eyes were clear, not clouded with lust. Same as Will, but he never took part in the Season, like Violet. It was odd to me, but made sense after talking to Will. I'd have to pick Violet's brain when I got a chance.
"You can dance too, ZeeZee."
I smiled at her. "Why, thank you."
She glanced at her siblings. "You will be bringing me here when they have to fight."
I was shocked. "Ho-"
She smiled. "Daddy... he is a bad man. He doesn't love us. They need me safe."
I dropped my head, she knew, it wasn't a secret. "Yeah, she asked me to take care of you."
She beamed. "Good, then she can focus, kill him, and come back faster."
I smiled sadly. "I'd prefer if she didn't have to do it at all. You don't seem bothered by it."
She shrugged. "He hurt us... he's still hurting us... just isn't time for his sacrifice yet. That's what Vivi said."
I tilted my head. "His sacrifice..."
She furrowed her brow. "To the Goddess, William knows her... you don't?"
I shook my head. "No, care to explain?"
She smiled mischievously. "That is not my place, but don't worry, keep learning and you'll get there."
