I frowned as I felt Zoey had not taken them to our mother's house and went to the park. She and Ezekiel looked up, smiling, but her face fell when she saw my expression. She didn't run up to me like usual to explain, her voice barely above a whisper. "ZeeZee said he would like to see where I play..."
William looked at the girl who spoke before looking around. "I don't think she can hear you from that distance."
I came within their earshot, but didn't raise my voice. "I can hear her just fine. You were told go to Mom's."
She looked at me pleading as I joined them. "He said he felt uneasy and didn't want to be inside, just in case."
I nodded and glared at him. "Then it is him who is in trouble."
She smiled a little. "Good, can we go now, I'm hungry."
I smiled at her. "Of course." When we got there she went to put her new toys away as Ezekiel looked around. "Why not go where you were told?"
He looked at me concerned. "I was restless and worried. I shouldn't have convinced her to do otherwise."
I rolled my eyes. "You worry too much."
He glanced at William who went into the living area. "You... they can be very dangerous, if they chose they could have every pack under their domain attack."
I pursed my lips. "They could try, but they would fail."
He blinked. "Wha-"
I sighed. "It doesn't matter."
He finished looking the pictures. "Where are they?"
I shrugged. "I sent them away and told them return tomorrow if they so chose."
Xavier barged in as usual. "The nerve of those assholes, who do they think they are espe-"
He froze in his tracks. "I've told you about just walking in, Zay."
He paled. "Well, now I may actually need to listen. At least until Monday."
Ezekiel looked between us. "You don't live here?"
He smirked. "We haven't lived together since we got here, nice having our own space."
I glared at him as Ezekiel tried to control his excitement at the news. "Zoey lives here, but that's not what we were talking about."
He blinked. "Yeah, you know they can just demand to be let in and you would be compelled to follow the order."
My twin chuckled as he went in the kitchen. "A lot of good giving orders did them, Violet had the younger one on his knees. You cooking or should I?"
His eyes widened. "What?"
I followed behind him. "The son told me to kneel, so I had him do it instead. I will, make them drinks for me, please."
He was already setting out cups. "Do they drink?"
I shrugged and pulled out ingredients. "You'd have to ask them."
"Violet, you made the Warden's son kneel."
I glanced over my shoulder as I started cutting things up. "You make it sound like a great feat, I didn't even put my full authority into it."
I heard his small gasp and felt a sense of admiration. "That... is unheard of."
I tossed some vegetables into a pan. "Is that so?"
Xavier returned from the living area with William in tow. "This one does..." He rattled off the options and looked at Ezekiel who politely shook his head. "Pick your poison, Sis."
