I turned and sat straight up when Ezekiel wasn't there. You did tell him be gone before Zoey wakes up.
I scowled. Shut up. She chuckled and I frowned. It shouldn't bother me, but... I scanned the area and rolled my eyes. Nevermind... I walked to the front door and frowned. "So... that didn't mean stand outside the door."
He turned and smiled. "I wouldn't have left if not for..." He pouted as he blushed. "Urges. Needed some fresh air."
I averted my gaze. "Fair, come in if your ready."
He hesitated. "I am... Alastair is about to get my ass kicked though."
Amethyst snickered. I did kind of ruin his fun...
I gently took his hand. "You won't hurt me, just make sure he doesn't."
His wolf took offense to that as Ezekiel smiled. "And that is how you put out a fire. He says he would never hurt either of you."
I blushed as I thought back to the night before. "Yeah..."
But you liked it, can't just blame them.
I pulled away as his hand approached my face. "He says your too shy."
I clenched my jaw. "He can kiss my ass." I scowled as his chest rumbled. "Nevermind."
He kissed my hand. "Your pack handled everything well."
I smirked, thankful for the change in subject, leading him to the kitchen. "They are amazing to say the least. I'm sure they will do well with all of this."
He pouted. "He says I can do the mind thing... I'm not sure mine will be as receptive."
I tilted my head. "Why?"
He scowled. "Reading their minds would not sit well with them, I'm sure."
"It's not mind reading and it's not a constant. It's communication over a distance, a lot like a phone call, but in your head."
He thought for a moment. "Interesting... but how does it work?" I pursed my lips before mumbling under my breath. "What was that?"
"It kinda just happened..." I sighed and focused on his mind. Kinda like this...
He blinked. "You just..." I shook my head. You're mind, not your mouth.
He furrowed his brow. I don't think it's working.
A small smile graced my lips. It is. I severed the connection and he frowned. "Now, focus on my mind."
He pursed his lips. "How?"
I rolled my eyes. "You are a world class stalker, how do you would you find me if I wasn't around?" He smirked and narrowed his eyes. I felt him link to mine, but it was lost as soon as he got excited. "Focus."
He tried again. Like this?
I nodded, halfway impressed. Yes. I shut him out again. "Much more efficient than sign language, now I just do it to piss people off."
Zoey padded in rubbing her eyes. "I want pancakes."
I watched her plop into her chair. "We're not having pancakes, Ladybug."
She pouted. "But..."
"No buts, you need more than sugar."
She sighed. "No brownies... no pancakes."
