Ezekiel's office was tense as we entered. His father was there talking to a large man with kind hazel eyes. The Warden sat in the chair next to him and he tensed as we walked past him. "Alpha Ezekiel... I haven't had the chance to visit since you came into position."
Ezekiel smiled politely. "You are a busy man, your highness. May I introduce my mate, Alpha Violet."
His smile widened. "So... this is the girl that has everyone up in arms." He chuckled as he looked at the Warden. "She is quite delicate, is she not?"
I fought to keep my expression neutral as Amethyst scoffed. We can show you delicate...
He held his hand out. "I'm Alfred, the King of Wolves in this region... it is a pleasure to finally meet you."
I placed mine in his. "Likewise."
His eyes widened. "I'm sorry, I find it hard to believe the rumors now that I've met you."
I tilted my head. "Depends on the rumor."
He quickly kissed my hand and I suppressed a grimace as Ezekiel tightened his hold on my waist. "Please, let's sit. Now... according to the Warden you nearly killed him and the council that was present."
I crossed my legs and sat back in my chair, meeting his gaze. "True."
He raised his eyebrows. "And those he sent to attack your pack were slaughtered, over 5000, while you were away."
"He should have received all of their heads some time this week actually."
He shifted uncomfortably. "And you... single handedly slaughtered the same amount of rogues..."
I didn't blink. "All truths, so far."
He sat back in awe. "Incredible... join me and train my guard."
I raised my eyebrows. "No."
His head tilted as I felt his aura seep into the room, I noted only two people were unaffected myself and my mate. "That was an order."
I took a slow breath, trying to control our anger. We were tired of men trying to order us around. "I am well aware. My answer stands."
His eyes widened. "How?"
I let my aura leaking into the room, over powering his easily, less than a fraction used and his eyes left mine. "I do hate when men try to make me submit, rather than simply asking."
Everyone in the room shifted uncomfortably except Ezekiel who stroked my arm to calm me. "Just a taste?"
I smiled at him. "Yes, Love."
The gold flecks that danced in his eyes distracted me. "I wonder..." I smirked as he tried to overpower my essence, forgetting the others in the room. He narrowed his eyes as the air began to move and the temperature raised, steadily increasing as I kept ahead of him. You two will kill these weaklings if you keep playing around...
Alastair must have said something too because he pouted, I sighed. "Another time." I glanced about the room, everyone else on their knees, covered in sweat and gasping for air. "We apologize."
We reigned ourselves in and the king recovered first. "Both of you are powerful... I rephrase my earlier statement, please join me."
"I still refuse, why submit to someone who clearly is weaker than I."
He frowned. "I am ki-"
I nodded. "Again, well aware. However, I do wonder how the thought came to be there were no kings or queens in the beginning. Alphas and their packs were expected to act with dignity and respect one another. You even have this deplorable title of Omega."
