I was running, but not from something, towards.  The feel of the forest floor was cool against my paws, man this is better than I thought.  Then I caught the scent and sent the message to my warriors.  We formed up surrounding the enemy.  "Amethyst... I'm afraid."

I felt my wolf chuckle.  "We were created for this purpose, let's make it count."

I smiled softly and it felt like her voice was cool rain and wind mixed in one.  "I agree."

We converged on our enemy and it was a bloodbath or... it would have been, but these creatures did not bleed.  As we ripped through them it sound like stone instead of soft flesh, and then nothing, they just ceased to be.  "So, this is why they are so hard to kill... but there has to be other ways.  I know fire can from before and the sun, but something the humans can use to protect themselves."

My wolf finished her slaughter and calmly felt around to make sure no one was mortally injured.  "I doubt the Goddess will give you much on that."

I sighed.  "I wouldn't ask it of her, she had given us so much already."

She howled, calling our troops back and she paused.  "Alastair has found something."

A smile spread across my face.  "Let's go to them."

She snickered.  "For someone who gives his master a hard time, you do love that man."

I scowled playfully.  "He can go to hell for all I give a damn."

She laughed, it reminded me of a quiet storm.  "I see why we were paired, never actually admit the weakness, but care for them just the same."

I rolled my eyes, smiling.  "You race toward your mate, but will snap as soon as he comes sniffing around.  Yes, we are a match made in heaven."

She felt a certain pride to it.  "Give them too much attention and they will get soft, let them chase, they enjoy it."

I giggled.  "This is also true."

We found them and stopped to appreciate the carnage in front of us.  "You enjoy the sight of death so much you have to pause to gaze at it... what have I gotten myself into."

My wolf turned.  "Your pack has done well... what is it you found?"

He went to lick a wound and we growled.  "You've been hurt..."

Amethyst sniffed.  "A flesh wound, show me."

I could feel him pout.  "One day, you'll beg for my attention."

"Yes, when the moon kisses the earth, I will come running."

He chuckled.  "Whatever you say, my love."

She rolled her eyes and we came to a cave.  We sniffed around.  "A lair..."  He kept moving forward until we saw what looked like a map on the wall.  We both smiled.  "Perfect..."

I blinked awake and my bed grunted as I pushed myself up.  I jumped back.  "Oh... sorry."  I looked down and blushed as I looked away from Ezekiel's body.  "Yeah... we need clothes."

I tried to get up, but was pulled to lay beside him.  "Tell me more about this ritual."

I pursed my lips.  "We fell asleep before she went into detail, but from what I understand it binds the the human and wolf, so they will come back together in the next life."  That's the concept, but we retain our memories, while our humans don't.

I beamed.  "Amethyst..."

I felt Ezekiel's wolf stir as he looked confused.  "Wha-"  Alastair must have told him because he smiled softly as he stroked my cheek.  "Violet and Amethyst..."
