I called a pack meeting Wednesday night and was slightly annoyed at how long it took for everyone to arrive and their attitudes. Rome wasn't built in a day.
I glanced at William. How does she do it, hell it was the middle of the night when they called theirs.
He was also displeased with this. Maybe you should ask.
I sighed. Just may have to, what if we were attacked or...
He gave me a slight nod. I know, but we've made progress. Everyone is here this time.
I looked over the crowd, no one was actually paying attention us in the least. It's not enough... something is going to happen sooner rather than later. I know you feel it to.
Then, we work harder to speed up the process.
"Hurry up! I'm sure we all have better things to do!"
I clenched my fists. This won't do at all. I glared at the kid who spoke. "If that's the case, then maybe you'd be better off outside of this territory."
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever..."
I fought my anger and took a slow breath, speaking to ensure everyone heard. "Firstly, if a pack meeting is called, especially this far in advanced, tardiness will be longer be tolerated."
A series of grumbles could be heard as I continued. "Now, we have come a far way from where we were, but still we are lacking. We had the pleasure of meeting the Eclipse pack and it brought many if not all of our shortcomings to light."
"We'd wipe the floor with them easily!"
"Yeah! Who are they anyway?"
"Some nameless backwoods pack for sure!"
I growled and everyone stopped their jeering. That was Violet's pack and I had little doubt they could slaughter us with little effort. "This... is part of your fucking problem. Cockiness will get you killed, starting next week we will work on our border patrols and train harder than before."
Again, more complaining. Disrespectful little... let me talk to them.
They're not ready.
Fuck ready, they need to be brought to heel now and you aren't cutting it.
Not now, Alastair. Let's just get through this meeting.
It is you who isn't ready then.
He went silent, fuming. He has had a chip on his shoulder since we returned. Women were throwing themselves at us since Alicia saw Violet on the phone, threats of mutiny, and just all around bullshit. Three had challenged my position already and nothing seemed to be going in the right direction. "Lastly, we will have visitors tomorrow and I expect you all to act accordingly."
"It better not be that b-"
That was the last straw as I glared at Brenda. "Finish that and you will be escorted to the dungeons." She scoffed and looked away. "Yes, it is my girlfriend, among others. Any who are out of line will be dealt with accordingly. You are dismissed."
No one was happy with this and voiced as much among themselves as they left. Corbin clapped my shoulder. "Well... that could have been worse."
I glared at him. "This is a disgrace."
