I groaned as someone knocked on my door, I was half tempted to ignore them, but they knocked again.  I regretted getting up as soon as I opened my door, it was William and his face had trouble written all over it.  "You're not going to like this..."

I clenched my jaw and followed him to the pack house and into the ballroom.  My heart sank, someone had come in a trashed everything, the decorations lay in shambles, walls held graffiti or were just splashed with paint, instruments that were left behind were broken, strewn across the paint stained stage.  "Who the fuck..."

William put some distance between us.  "We have trackers looking into it, but this..."

I was shaking with rage, I knew who was behind this, but her scent was no where.  The problem was who let them into the packhouse.  Only people who opened were the Omegas who kept the place up, William, Corbin, and... Alicia.  I turned to him.  "Find my secretary and Brenda bring them here now."

It took no time to find and deliver them to me because they were together.  "What the fuck is this?"

Brenda pursed her lips.  "Looks like someone is against this whole ball thing to me."

Alicia looked shocked.  "Who did this... it took so much..."

I clenched jaw as I glared at Brenda.  "I know you're behind this."

She gaped.  "Me?  I've been hanging at the bar all night."

I felt my self losing control as my skin rippled, this bitch was standing here smug as she lied to me.  "Eze-"

My phone rang, I hope and prayed they caught whoever did this.  "Who was it?"

The person paused.  "I thought I felt weird, strange considering the distance..."  I stayed silent trying to reel in my anger. "What's wrong?"

I needed her off the phone, I couldn't...  "I'll call you back."

I heard her moving around as she sighed.  "Ezekiel, you hang up and I will call right back.  What's wrong?"

"I ca-"

"You're letting your emotions control you, go for a run."

I looked at my phone in disbelief.  "What?"

She sighed as I heard her door closing.  "Go for a run, just trust me."

She hung up and suddenly running felt like a wonderful idea.  Getting as far away from this as possible... maybe I could figure this shit out.  I glared at Brenda.  "Put her in holding until we find who did this."

I saw William heave a silent breath of relief, I couldn't blame him, Brenda was about to die and her face showed just how close she knew she was to it.  "Ho- holding?  I've done nothing wr-"

I strode out.  "Let's see what the culprits have to say."

Shifting never felt so good, I let my wolf have free reign running as fast as he could to relieve some stress.  Only thing I knew is that we were headed South, a shadow racing through the trees.  She was right it felt better, I could think clearer now that I was away.  I'd have to thank her later, but for right now I just needed to be free.

My wolf slowed as he caught a scent.  "Violet?"

He redirected and we came to a cliff and there she was looking up at the night sky as though entranced.  I silently cursed, I was in such a hurry, I didn't have clothes to shift back.  He approached slowly and she turned, clearly concerned.  "See, told you to trust me.  Feel any better?"

My wolf huffed and laid down beside her.  She scratched his muzzle and stroked his fur.  He was enjoying it entirely too much.  "Those teeth come anywhere near me and you'll lose them."

He grunted, disgruntled, but didn't test her.  "Where the fuck did she come from?"  I know we were hundreds of miles from my territory was hers...

"No, we are no where near here."  He didn't seem as shocked I was as she answered my thoughts.  "And no, I still don't speak wolf.  Your emotions are really strong right now."

I pouted.  "Well damn..."

She smiled still running her small hands through our fur.  "You were gonna kill someone in rage..."

I blinked.  "Ho-"

She looked at the sky sadly.  "I felt it, Ezekiel... I'm telling you now, you should never do that.  You become less human that way."

I narrowed my eyes.  "How do you know all this shit?"

She looked into our eyes.  "If you kill, kill with purpose and a clear mind.  Never do so in the heat of the moment."

I thought about her words as she shifted and placed a bag in front of us.  "When you're ready you can change there... there is a cave."

I jumped at the chance, but my wolf was loving her hands caressing him.  "Damn you..."

She giggled, speaking directly to my wolf.  "As much as I enjoy your company, I actually need to know what's wrong."

He huffed, hating that she actually made the request, but moved.  Once changed, I sat beside her and she did the most unexpected thing.  She pulled me so my head was in her lap and ran her fingers through my hair.  Damn, it felt good, I see why my wolf didn't want to move.

He glared at me and sat to pout.  She giggled again.  "He is none too pleased."

I closed my eyes, letting her touch soothe me.  "Someone trashed everything."  She stayed silent.  "The ballroom... the decorations, the walls, the stage, all of it."

She nodded.  "Do you know who?"

I frowned.  "I have an idea."

She looked down at me.  "A lot of people have been wrongly killed on suspicion alone.  Do you know who it was?"

I sighed.  "Not yet."

"Then all you can do is fix it until you do."

She made it sound so fucking simple. But she didn't know how much work went into this, how hard everyone labored to make it happen.  "Violet, we can't just..."

She raised her eyebrows.  "You are talking to a professional here, tell me what can't be done in 3 days time and I will happily prove you wrong."

I paused, she was right I watched her and her group place the most magnificent setting for a masquerade in one evening on nothing, but a whim.  We already had a plan, just needed to clean up and redecorate.  I sat up on my elbow and kissed her, she helped me calm my rage, still my mind, and think when she didn't have to.

She literally got up and ran from who knows where just to help me.  She was tense at first, but relaxed, opening herself to me.  I pulled back, breathless, she was panting as she licked her lips.  I searched her eyes, tinted purple and grey and scooped her up, capturing her lips again as I went towards the cave.
