I narrowed my eyes at the package, recognizing the scent when it hit my office earlier that day. "What the fuck is he doing?" I sighed as my phone chimed exactly at 10:30.
AAF: Don't reply if she's not, but is the baby princess sleep yet?
I couldn't help, but smile at the message. Ezekiel had gotten into the habit of calling her that since my Ice Princess appearance and also scheduling his messaging around my time with her. It made my chest warm and my life a little easier.
I pursed my lips at the package and called. "Good evening, Princess."
I bit my lip as my heart did somersaults. "I got a strange package today..."
I could feel his smile. "Is that so? Who would send you such a thing?"
My smile widened at the amusement in his voice and I sighed. "Smells like a man... probably a stalker or maybe... they are trying to kill me."
He gasped. "Maybe I should come inspect that."
I stifled my giggle. "No, you sir will be stopped at the border even if you could find us."
He sighed truly sorrowful. "Maybe one day, my princess will let me see her little kingdom."
"Mmmmm... maybe..."
"Are you going to open it?"
I sat back, still staring at it. "Do you think it will kill me?"
He chuckled. "One way to find out."
"Could just tell me what's in it, saves me repacking it when I send it back."
"They left a return address? One stupid man."
I had to giggle at that. "No... but I have an idea of which man sent it. He has this habit of doing things he's not supposed to... like I don't know... finding a way to get a package to me without an address."
He laughed. "That man is crafty. Open it and if you don't like it just chuck it or give it to me on Friday."
I rolled my eyes. "Can we skip the whole ball part?"
"You and I both know that answer." He sounded disgruntled.
I tilted my head. "Did I say something wrong?"
"No, I'd rather be doing a million other things with you, but we have responsibilities."
I scowled. "I don't wanna be responsible."
I felt his good mood return. "Same, but we will."
"For our packs."
I smiled when we said it together. "Okay, let's see what this stalker sent me." I stood and cut the tape with my nails. "Ezekiel..."
"I'm here, just waiting."
I don't know why it bothered me when he didn't speak, but I felt better now. I opened it and smirked. "He sent me colorful paper! How sweet!"
He laughed. "Wow... your stalker is so thoughtful." I removed it and paused before pulling out a dress. It was a gorgeous navy with a lilac tree embossed along one side. I held it out to see it had 3/4 sleeves, left my shoulders exposed and the skirt swayed and hit just above my knees. "Violet..."
I shook myself as I was speechless. "Ezekiel... it's beautiful..."
I heard his small sigh of relief. "Keep digging, Princess."
I glanced at my phone, surprised. "There's more?"
He chuckled. "Yes..." I went back in the box and pulled out a much smaller dress the same navy as mine, but splattered with lilac flowers. I couldn't breathe and sat on the bed as my heart raced. "It's for Zoey... I'd love if she came with you."
I clutched it to my chest as my heart felt full and my eyes started to sting. "You di-"
"I want her to Violet."
I closed my eyes and bit my lip, my voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you..."
He went silent for a moment, waiting for me to collect myself. When he heard me heave a sigh he clicked his tongue. "There's more when you're ready..."
"Ezekiel, you really don't have t-"
"I want to... for you, Violet."
I dropped my head and nodded, returning to the box to see he sent entire outfits with accessories for both of us. "This is too much."
I could almost see him shaking his head. "Not for you, not for Zoey... open the envelope."
I did and smiled. "An invita-... 2 invitations?" I glanced over mine and paused as I ran my hand over Zoey's. "You sent her a personal invite?"
"I did... and materials so if you wanted you could package everything up so she can open it up herself."
I sat cross-legged on the bed, taking it all in. "I can't think of any snarky ass comment right now."
He laughed. "I'll take that as a good thing."
I held my tongue between my teeth as I really wanted him there in front of me to show him just how happy he made me. "I'll give it to her tomorrow after work, she'll love it all."
He went quiet again. "Do you?"
I pursed my lips. "Don't worry you'll get the proper ass kicking when I see you Friday."
His laugh sent a warm sensation through me. "I'll prepare myself for that. Get some sleep, we can talk more tomorrow."
I scoffed. "You mean you'll wake me up and stay on the phone listening all day like you always do."
I knew he was smiling, proudly. "Until you have to hang up, then I'll call back like the proper stalker."
I chuckled. "Good night, Ezekiel and... thank you."
He sighed happily. "Sweet dreams, Princess."

I couldn't control my smile as she opened the package. All of her smart ass comments left her and I worried she didn't like it. Very rarely if ever did I hear her close to tears. I smiled softly knowing her silence was because she was stunned speechless. Appreciation laced in her voice when she did speak.
She felt it was too much, not understanding I didn't feel it was enough. Yes, I slaved trying to figure out the right sizes and the fact that lilac seemed to be a difficult color to find this season matching dresses was next to impossible to find. However, her reaction alone was worth it. I still had things for them and I knew that would either make her overjoyed or extremely pissed.
