We rushed to get to the room and I knelt to Zoey's level, running my fingers through her hair when she came up to me curiously. Xavier and Aurora were quickly getting our stuff. "What's wrong, Vivi?"
I smiled at her softly. "I need you to listen to me carefully, do not hesitate and do not question." She simply nodded, eyes clouding. "You're going with Ray, somewhere safe, we'll be along shortly, do you understand?"
She glanced as Ray and Xavier disappeared through the door. "Yes, Vivi."
I nodded and stood, picking her up and hurrying after them to strap her in her car seat. Aurora faced me as I finished. "I've got her. Make him regret living."
All I could do was nod before closing the door. When they were out of sight I looked up at Ezekiel. "Walk with us."
He looked between us and nodded as we started for the treeline. "Violet..."
I didn't look at him. "A little further..."
He was lost, he couldn't understand my rage, my need to kill this man with every fiber of my being. Xavier glanced at me. "Are you sure he should be here?"
I side-eyed him. "You think he'll stay put?"
He sighed. "True. Sorry in advanced man."
When we were 5 miles out of the territory we stopped and faced it, waiting. "So, his name is Nelson and that bastard kidnapped Zoey after I refused him."
Ezekiel's eyes turned red. "What?"
I met his gaze. "Remember I said my parents would leave her..." he nodded. "I was the only one with them and they left while we were in his territory. After, I said no he had his people take her."
His rage was almost as pleasing to me as his bloodlust. "Why the fu-"
I shook my head. "The only reason he still lives is because the Season hit right as I was about to kill him. His stench... well you felt it I'm sure." He gave me a stiff nod as I felt them coming, my twin exchanged a glance with me as we smirked. "I couldn't protect her and kill them without passing out."
Xavier moved slightly and I felt as the air got heavy and shifted. "If you don't want any parts of this we understand."
Ezekiel glared at him. "I fight with you."
Our smiles widened as they were in our sights and we spoke simultaneously. "It won't be a fight. It'll be a slaughter."

Nothing could have prepared me for what she said. Not the way they rushed to get Zoey or how they completely ignored their parents as though they didn't exist. Then they stood there, not saying a word, her mom looked concerned while her dad... indifferent? Maybe even angry? For a two year old, that kid knew when it was time to get serious. I know nothing Violet said was an order, but she did as she was told without a fuss, her older sister wasn't surprised in the least. Then, the walk outside the territory was tense.
I wanted answers, but she told me to wait it only made me worry more. They wanted blood and they aimed to get it tonight. I wanted to talk sense into her, but I knew there was no talking, not when I could literally taste their bloodlust. They moved fast in complete silence, even when I strained I could only hear my footfalls.
I realized, I never actually bothered to watch her brother move and was not surprised when I glanced in his direction to find very natural looking calculated movements. Just like Violet, every step, shift in weight, even the way they glanced around had purpose.
We made it outside the border and finally she turned to me, eyes ultraviolet, calm and deadly. I couldn't control my own rage when she told me. Her parents were careless and it almost cost her, Zoey or me, my mate if she had chosen to bet against the odds. I was offended when Xavier had the audacity to say I didn't have to help, but the way they looked at each other when their prey appeared...
It was spine chilling, they looked forward to this, even thought it wasn't a fight. From what I remembered I knew they weren't just talking either, they could clock their opponents seamlessly within seconds. I felt as the air seemed to shift so we were up wind and got hotter, but I shrugged it off as adrenaline and faced the ones falling straight into their trap.
"Wow, never took the Ice Princess as a party girl."
She had went into the mindset I feared more than her angrier moments. A quiet storm of lethal anticipation, something about it was beautifully terrifying. I set those thoughts aside as one of Nelson buddies elbowed him and chuckled. "Maybe we'll all have a turn, seems like she's into it, her brother too."
The third spoke. "Or maybe he just likes watching."
They kept coming toward us, relaxed not understanding that though the two beside me were smaller than me and they were more than twice my size, they were facing the two most dangerous wolves I knew. I heard them mutter something together, under their breaths, almost like a prayer, so low I didn't catch the words.
The air got thicker as their eyes tracked the five wolves in front of them, calmly assessing their every movement. I was almost scared that I'd be in their way though they stood motionless waiting for them to strike. Silent breaths were taken as they relaxed further, preparing for their execution.
With the wind in their favor Violet wasn't effected by their scents, it almost seemed like even nature was playing on their side. "Ah, you're hallmark silence. Don't worry I'll have you screaming by the time I'm through with you."
I clenched my fists. "This bastard..." Then it happened, they rushed us. I quickly got the one closest to me tossing him, snapping his neck, but when I turned I gaped. "How the fuck?"
The other three were already dead and Violet was slitting Nelson throat slowly savoring his terror as she spoke, again under her breath so only Nelson would hear. A terrifying, satisfied smile graced her lips as he fell to ground. She looked at the dead bodies in appreciation.
When she met my gaze my heart stopped before it started to race. I knew I shouldn't be proud, impressed, aroused even at the sight of my mate finding pleasure in taking lives, but damned if I didn't. My wolf was no help as he fought to take over calling to hers, in lust.
I looked her over as she approached me, now at peace with them dead. Not a hair was out of place, no bloodstains on her clothes. I glanced at her brother and was met with the same result. They could walk back to the party and no one would notice a thing. "Do you hate me, Ezekiel?"
I shook myself, trance broken. "Hate you?"
She smiled sadly. "We just killed four men without a second thought and no regret. We will walk away from this and not lose a second of sleep over it. The girl you've been chasing is a heartless killer, if she is nothing else. Do you hate me?"
I searched her face, she was serious and I shook my head. "I could never hate you. This... they deserved it, they hurt Zoey." She watched my eyes as she nodded and I hugged her tight. "Let's find her."

I saw as Ezekiel looked over the scene and my heart twisted. He knew I was capable of killing, but this was an execution. By the time he got his man down, Xavier and I had already felled three and the only reason he saw me kill Nelson is because I wanted to savor ending his life. I wanted to taste he fear, hear his last worthless breath.
Once he fell I couldn't help, but enjoy the sight laid at my feet. I don't know what made me this way as the air returned to its normal state, I finally looked at him, expecting terror, disgust, hate. Instead his eyes were pinned on me only sparing my brother a quick glance, he looked... enthralled, mesmerized.
When I spoke he snapped out of it, the smallest smile in his lips. I could feel his wolf calling for mine in heat, she was smug, also satisfied with our kill. My heart soared when the words left his lips. "I could never hate you." I inhaled his scent as he hugged me. If I ever had any doubt before there wasn't one now, this was my mate and I loved him.
