"So... tomorrow?"
I bit my lip, hoping. "I have Zoey."
I smirked. "Bring her with you."
"How will it be a surprise if she is there a day early?"
I silently cursed, I knew she wanted to come, but she was fighting as always. "I'll figure all that out if you say yes."
I heard her door close. "Are you two still going back and forth?"
"Shut up Xavier. You don't have to if you wait until Saturday."
"I already told you I'd keep her for the night."
I perked up at that. "You didn't tell me that."
She groaned and I clenched my jaw, it made me want her more. "Because you'd jump at the chance. I can't just pawn her off everytime I want to do something."
I sat back. "In your defense, you've never done that."
"She will be fine for a night, especially if you're going for birthday planning."
"Get the fuck out, you're not helping."
Her brother laughed. "How about this, I'll be there anyway to get stuff set up. If you come great, if not.... I'll... go overboard and suffer for it when you get to kill me when you get here."
"Ezekiel... she doesn't need all th-"
I chuckled. "How else will I occupy my time?"
"Why..." She sighed. "I don't wanna talk about this any more."
My heart sunk, I pushed too far. "Sorry, I'll behave."
"For now."
I heard her brother mumble something as William walked in. "We're all set for Saturday." I just nodded. "What'd you do now?"
I sighed. "Same..."
He chuckled. "She'll recover, just give her time."
"Tell your Beta he doesn't know my life."
I smiled, that didn't take as long as last time. She'd been shutting down all week, mostly my fault for pushing her to come a day early. I could tell she was stressed though aside from the party. "He is well aware."
"Tell him anyway."
I sighed. "She said she'd ban you from the party."
She giggled. "Such a liar."
He sighed. "Then who will tell her when you're doing the most?"
I frowned at him, everytime he'd come in the office, he'd look at what I was doing and comment. "Traitor."
He smiled. "I mean I haven't told her ab-"
He glared at him. "Tell me about what?"
I turned away. "Nothing..."
She went silent for a moment. "Put me on speaker."
"No."
"The fuck?"
"Come tomorrow and you'll find out."
I heard her take a breath. "Forget it."
I closed my eyes. "Violet, what's wrong?"
She was moving around. "Nothing."
"Liar."
"That's me..."
