Aradhya's POV

" Mrs. Martin will be here in a few moments. Are you comfortable here?" The maid asked me. I smiled.

" Yeah, I am. Thanks for asking." I said to her. She nodded and left.

I was waiting there for Mrs. Martin. It's been a week since Mom joined her new job but it's not helping us with our expenses very well. I mean my school fees is too much to add in this list. I am not sure how will we manage that amount after paying all the expenses. I am afraid that I have to dropout from the school. I was here to meet Mrs. Martin to talk to her about managing me a part-time job. I wish she can help me with that!!!

" Oh, hey!!! How are you doing?" I heard Mrs. Martin's voice. I stood up at once. I smiled politely at her.

" Hello, Mrs. Martin!!! I am doing well. What about you?" I asked her and she smiled.

" I am fine. Please have a seat." She said to me. I sat across her. " So? What brought you here?" She asked me. I smiled.

" How is your daughter doing?" I asked her.

" Oh, she is doing well. Thank you for that day." She said and I smiled.

" You are welcome, Mrs. Martin." I said to her. I didn't know how to start the conversation.

" Are you ok?" She asked me and I tried to smile.

" Yes. I am ok." I said to her and took a deep breath. " Mrs. Martin, can you help me to find out a part-time job? It's kinda urgent." I said to her and she looked at me weirdly.

" Part-time job?! How old are you?" She asked me.

" I will be 15 next week." I said to her and she looked at me weirdly.

" You look much younger than that." She said and I nodded mindlessly. " Why do you need a part-time job?! What about your family?" She asked me.

" Actually, Mrs. Martin, I live with my mother and she is a single mom." I said to her and she nodded. " Mom lost her job few days back. She managed to get a job which is not enough to provide the expenses. We have just shifted here last month and we don't know much people around. The people who promised to get Mom a job is now refusing to get it to her. We are kindly in a crisis. So, I have to find out a job to save myself from dropping out of the school." I said to her and she nodded.

" Wait awhile. I am doing something." She said and took her phone to call someone. She talked to the person on the other side of the phone for awhile. I was waiting for a positive response from her. She hung up the phone and turned to see me smilingly.

" My friend Lizzy has a bookstore nearby. You go and meet her. She will manage you a job." She said and handed me a card. "There is her number and address. You can go and meet her in the bookstore now. She must be in the store now." She said and I nodded.

" Thank you so much, Mrs. Martin. I will never ever forget your kindness." I said to her and she smiled.

" I will not forget your help as well. If you didn't help my daughter that day then we could lose her as well. She is not mentally stable. She keeps forgetting things and stuffs." She said a bit worriedly.

" Everything will be fine, Mrs. Martin. Don't worry." I said to her and she nodded.

We talked for awhile and then I walked out of there. I needed to talk to Lizzy and manage the job. I hope I can manage to arrange the money for my school fees. God knows!!! I took my phooljhari and reached the address that Mrs. Martin had given me. I entered the bookstore. I found a few customers there. I reached the counter and searched for Lizzy.

" How may I help you?" I heard someone asking and turned to find a woman in her late 20s asking me smilingly.

" Ummm... Can I talk to Ms. Lizzy? Mrs. Martin has send me to her." I said to her and she narrowed her eyes at me.

" You are that girl?! How old are you?" She asked me and I think she is Lizzy only as she knew about the matter.

" I am 15, Ms. Lizzy." I said to her but I don't think she trusted me at all.

" Can I check the legal documents?!" She asked me and I sighed.

" I will bring them tomorrow or I can go home and bring them for you now if you insist." I said to her. She nodded.

" I thought you will be older than that." She said disappointedly. I sighed. May be she is not ready to appoint me. I didn't say anything. " Ok. You come back tomorrow with the documents I am thinking about a suitable job for you." She said and I nodded before walking out of there.

Finding out a job here is not that easy which I know very well now. I don't think Lizzy is interested to appoint me but I will still have to try. I can't let the chance go. I have to find out a job anyhow.

I was going back home when I found something stuck on phooljhari's tyre was punctured. I looked at it weirdly. It was completely fine before I went inside the bookstore to talk to Lizzy. I shook my head sighing deeply. I have to go home on foot. I heard my phone was ringing at the same time. I took my phone out and found it was Juliet. I picked the call up.

" Hello!!!" She said.

" Hello, Juliet!!!" I said to her.

" Hey!!! We are going to Susan's birthday party. What are you doing now? Join us. You will love it." She said to me and I sighed deeply.

" I don't think I will be able to join you all. I am a bit busy today." I said to her.

" Oh, ok. No worries. See you tomorrow." She said and hung up.

I sighed deeply. I have stuck in an ocean of problem.
