Aradhya's POV
" Asher Milverton, sir." Asher said to Dad shaking hand with him.
" Nice to meet you, Asher. Have a seat." He said and I chuckled seeing my father scanning Asher like that.
" I hope Aradhya told you everything about me." Dad said.
" Yes. She did." Asher said.
" Are you uncomfortable here?" Dad asked him.
" No, Sir. I am fine." Asher said. Dad chuckled. " And thanks for inviting me in."
" I am glad that you joined us." Dad said to him. " I was talking to my daughter then found someone waiting for her eagerly outside. So, I decided to call him in." Dad said and Asher chuckled.
" I thought she needs some mental support." He said.
" Yes, she does but can you handle that?" Dad asked him.
" You can trust me." Asher said.
" Can I?" Dad ask him looking at me and I nodded. " Ok, let this topic go for now. Let's have lunch first. We have time to discuss about it later." Dad said and I chuckled silently.
We had lunch and Dad literally started to interrogate Asher about everything. I sighed deeply but I was enjoying his overprotective behavior. I missed this all my life when I needed and he missed it too. So, now when he got that chance I don't want him to miss it and as much as I know Asher he will not mind about this. He knew everything. I told him already. He will not react about it. I hope so. I was watching them talking to each other forgetting my presence.
" Am I here?" I asked them. They turned to see me. " I thought I am not here." I said and Dad chuckled.
" Have lunch we will about it talk later." Dad said and I sighed.
" You really surprised me with your cooking skills." I said to him. He chuckled.
" Told you." He said.
" I am really amazed with your cooking skills, Dad." I said to him.
" I had to live alone all these years. So, I learnt it for myself." He said.
" You didn't tell me why did you quit your job when you came back?" I asked Dad.
" I got a fracture on my right leg and it took years to recover. So, I had to quit." He said and I sighed. He had gone through a lot.
" Oh, that's why." I said and he nodded.
" Have your meal." He said as he found I had a little.
" I have had enough, Dad." I said to him.
" If this is called enough then what would be a little for you?" He said to me. I chuckled.
We had lunch then Mom called me. I checked Dad. He was talking to Asher. I picked the call up.
" Hello, Maa." I said.
" Hey, Ari." She said. " Everything ok there?" I asked her.
" Everything is fine." I said to her.
" Enjoy your time with your father." She said.
" I told him everything and he agreed with me. I am not leaving you ever, Mom." I said to her and she chuckled.
" Your happiness matters. If you think your father deserves to be with you then you can ask him to move in with us." Mom said and I smiled.
" Mom, Dad will move to London. We don't have to do anything. He decided it for everyone of us." I said to her.
" He said so?" Mom asked me.
" Yes. He did." I said to her.
" That's great. What is Arjun doing now?" Mom asked me.
" Talking to Asher." I said to her.
" Alright then. You keep enjoying your day. If you need anything call me." She said.
" I definitely will, Mom. I love you." I said to her.
" I love you more." She said. " Bye, take care." She said to me and I chuckled and hung up.
I walked back to Dad and Asher and sat next to Dad. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I smiled.
" Asher was saying that you and your friends have launched your new song? You haven't told me that. And next time invite your friends too. I want to meet all of them." Dad said and I chuckled.
All these days I only wanted to make my mom and family proud of myself but now I need to add my father in that list too.
" Ok. I will invite them next weekend. You have too cook for all of us. We are 8 including me." I said and he chuckled.
" No problem." He said and looked away. I could see his eyes tearing. I know how does it feel cause I was feeling the same.
We had a great time together. Dad gave us a tour of his luxurious house where he was going to move in a few weeks. It was close to our house. I smiled but one thing rang in my mind that he was going to leave here all alone. My presence was not going to erase his loneliness completely. How could I help him here?! I sighed deeply. We had dinner together and then Asher dropped me at home.
" Aradhya!!!" Asher called me from back and I turned to see him.
" Yes, Asher." I said to him.
" Has Susan send you any pictures?" He asked me. I looked at him weirdly. How does he know that??!
" Yes." I said to him. " You and her together in your college." I said to him and he sighed deeply.
" And you believe whatever she said?" He asked me.
" There is nothing to disbelieve her." I said to him. He nodded looking away.
" Is that just for me or you are blind for real?" He asked me. I was confused.
" What are you talking about?" I asked him.
" All these years you are here I have cared for you the most, I have been with you all the time like a shadow, I was always there whenever you needed any help, Aradhya. Do you think I have done all these just because you are my friend? Do someone comes to see a friend every night? You never realized that there is something more than that, right? You can understand everyone's feelings but when it comes about me you are blind. You can be that dumb to not to understand my feelings. You can't." He said and got in the car at once before driving away without letting me explain anything. I kept looking at the way he left. Was I so blind for real??!
