Aradhya's POV

Considering one of the best places in the world to be in the last day of the year, Paris is colourful, exciting, and full of life. In fact, New Year's is hardly a one-night affair in Paris and the rest of France. New Year celebrations in Paris begin on January 1st and lasts for the entire month. I know it's sounds crazy but I loved it. We checked in the hotel at 1 PM and then took rest before getting fresh and coming out of the hotel to see the celebration. Our destination was the Eiffel Tower.

We were in the car and I was looking out of the window. Paris was beautiful. The city of love it was. But today it was in a festive mood as it was the New Year's Eve. The city was decorated beautifully. People were having a nice time with family and friends.

" It is definitely beautiful. It must be a great celebration of the year." I said to them.

" Paris definitely knows how to celebrate. And if there’s one day a year when one can be guaranteed to be in for a big party in the city, it’s New Year’s Eve. Every year, the city of love lights up and crowds fill Paris’s bars, clubs and streets for a celebration of new year. But at such a busy time of year, it’s important to plan your night in advance to ensure that you don’t miss out on the fun. You can start the year with a bang at the city’s fireworks display, party in one of its infamous clubs or dine in style at a fancy restaurants." Cole said chuckling while driving the car. I nodded.

" If you want to experience the glamorous charm and beauty of Paris on the new year, you should make your way to the Eiffel Tower for the famous midnight light show and see the magnificent tower light up at the stroke of midnight. The best view of the Eiffel Tower light show can be had from Trocadero. But we have to be there in time." Juliet said to me.

" We still have enough time to reach there. First of all we are hungry as hell. I needed to have something to get my system work perfectly." I said to her.

" We will have dinner once we reach there." Whitney said.

" You ok?" Gabi asked me.

" I am alive." I said to her and she chuckled.

" There will be a huge crowd, girls." Ardeyn said.

" So what?!" Juliet asked him.

" Be careful." He said and she rolled her eyes.

" We will. No worries, Ardeyn." I said to him.

We had our dinner and then waited for the time that the countdown starts and the light show starts. There were thousands of people waiting for the light show to be started to celebrate the new year. Like everyone else I was also wishing that the new year brings immeasurable happiness in my life and helps me to forget my terrible past.

" Where are you lost?" I heard Asher saying. I chuckled.

" Nowhere. Just was waiting for the new year light show. When is that going to start?" I asked him.

" Soon. Have you called your Mom?" He asked me. I shook my head. I forgot it. Damn!!!

" Here. Call her." He gave me his phone.

" It's ok. I will call her once we go back to the hotel." I said to him. He shook his head.

" Call her now. She will be worried about you." He said and I nodded.

" Ok. I am calling her." I said to him and took the phone before dialling my mom's number. She picked it up after 3 rings.

" Hello!!! Who is that?" She asked me.

" Maa, it's me Ari." I said.

" Oh!! Ari!!! Whose number is this?" She asked me.

" Asher's." I said. She chuckled.

" He called me few hours back to inform me that you guys are there already." She said and I looked at Asher who was looking at the crowd. I chuckled. Sensible one.

" Yes, Mom. Guess what??! We are here near the Eiffel Tower waiting for the new year light show." I said to her excitedly.

" That's great. Enjoy. I am here near the Big Ben waiting for the New Year countdown in an hour as well." Mom said.

" You went there alone?" I asked her.

" Mrs. Bradley joined me along with her son. Actually, they invited me to join them when they were coming to enjoy the celebration." She said and I smiled.

" Enjoy, Mom." I said to her.

" You too, Ari. Don't think about anything else. It's your life and you have full right to live it to the fullest." She said to me.

" I am doing that, Mom. And I will not look back. I promise you." I said to her.

" That's like my girl." She said and I chuckled.

" Mom, have you had your dinner?" I asked her. She chuckled.

" Yes. What about you?" She asked me.

" I have it already. Mom, Paris is beautiful." I said to her.

" I am glad that you liked it." She said. " This is your birthday gift from me. I couldn't give you anything as a present on this birthday." Mom said and I chuckled.

" Mom, you are the biggest gift if my life. I don't need any other gifts." I said to her and she sighed deeply.

" And you are mine, Ari. If you weren't in my life I would lose all the hope of life." She said.

" I will always be there for you no matter what happens. I will always be with you like a shadow." I said to her. I can feel that she was crying on the other side of the phone. I let her and blinked the tears away. " Maa, you told that this is the end of the Darkness. Why are you crying then?" I asked her.

" Enjoy to the fullest, Ari. Maa loves you the most, sweetheart." She said. " Bye, Ari. Take care." She said and hung up. I bite my lower lip to control my emotions. I knew that she was crying now. I flinched as I heard the countdown started and I kept looking at the Eiffel. The light show started as soon as the countdown ended.

" Happy New Year, Aradhya." I heard Asher's voice and smiled.

" Happy New Year." I said to him giving his phone back to him.

I kept looking at the crowd who were cheering crazily. Everyone were wishing for better tomorrow to get rid of all the pain, scar, wound, tears and failure.
