Sort Things Out

Aradhya's POV

" How did you get inside the house, Ari?" Ardeyn asked me.

I was looking at Asher who was talking to the doctor along with my mom. We were sitting in the hospital lobby. Thanks God that I have called Ardeyn in time. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to help Mrs. Bradley. They helped us a lot. I am grateful for that.

" Ari!!! Where are you lost?" Ardeyn patted my shoulder.

" Oh!!! I got the extra keys of her house which she had given to my mom last week cause she keeps forgetting her keys here and there." I said to him.

" How did you find out that she is not doing well?" He asked me and I sighed.

" Mom asked me to invite Mrs. Bradley for dinner tonight. You know, she stays alone there in the house and skips dinner often. That's why. I went to her place to tell her to join us at dinner. But when I went there she didn't response. She didn't open the door, didn't answer my call and neither respond on my knocking on the door. So, I went back home and got the keys to see if she is doing well or not and when I went inside I found her unconsciously lying on the ground." I said to him and he nodded.

" You did a great thing, Ari. I am proud of you." Ardeyn said and I chuckled shaking my head.

" Why weren't Asher answering my phone calls?" I asked him. He sighed.

" Ash left his phone at home." He said and I looked at him weirdly.

" Who is Ash?" I asked him confusedly. He chuckled.

" Ash is a pet name of Asher from Ardeyn. You don't call him with this name. It's my personal property." He said like a little kid. I chuckled.

" Awwww... It's so cute nickname." I said to him. He nodded.

" It is, right?" He said and I nodded. " But Asher doesn't like his nickname." He said.

" It's people's right to call their cousins with weird names." I said.

" Ash is not weird." He said.

" It's quite cool." I said. " You know I call one of my cousin Matrix and another one as Hero." I chuckled and he rolled his eyes.

" They are weird for real. Is that short form of their names?" He asked me and I chuckled.

" Not at all. One of them is like a genius living human calculator, I mean he is brilliant in math but failed in Geography once. Anyways that is not the matter of discussion. The moral of the story is he is a future mathematician that's why I call him Matrix." I said to him. He rolled his eyes.

" And the other one?" He asked me.

" Oh, he is very sweet, cute and dashing guy. That's why we all call him hero." I said to him. He rolled his eyes.

" There could be more creative name could be given, Ari." He said and I rolled my eyes.

" They are also cute names." I said to him and he sighed.

" You have 2 cousins? That's great." He said.

" I am 17 cousins from both of my parents side. 5 from my mother's side and rest from my father's side." I said to him and he looked at me weirdly.

" Like really?" He asked me and I rolled my eyes.

" What will I get from lying to you?" I asked him. He sighed.

" Such a big family." He said.

" You guys don't have any other cousins?" I asked him. He chuckled.

" It's a very complicated story. Asher's father is my maternal uncle and and my father is Asher's maternal uncle." He said. I thought for awhile.

" That means Asher's mother is your father's sister and your mother is Asher's father's sister?! OMG!!! What a cross connection!!! Mind blowing!!" I said clapping my hands. He rolled his eyes. I cleared my throat. " I mean I am very sorry for you. You don't have any other uncle or aunt?" I said to him. He rolled his eyes.

" My uncle is not married yet." He said and I chuckled.

" Tell your uncle to have a bunches of kids." I said and he rolled his eyes.

" Guys!!!" Asher sat next to Ardeyn.

" What happened?! What is the doctor saying?" I asked Asher.

" She is doing well. Don't worry. We can take her home by tomorrow morning." He said.

" That's great." I said and looked around to see where Mom was.

" What happened?" Asher asked me.

" Where is Mom?" I asked him.

" Oh, she has gone to take the reports." He said and I nodded at the same time I found Jacob was asking something to the nurse. I stood up.

" Mr. Bradley!!!" I waved at him. He turned to see us. Then walked toward us.

" Where is Mom?" He asked me and I looked at Asher and he nodded.

" Come with me, Mr. Bradley." Asher said to him and he nodded.

Asher walked into the cabin with Mr. Bradley. I sighed and found Mom was coming back.

" Mom, everything ok?" I asked and she wrapped her arm around my shoulder.

" You did a great thing today, Ari." She said and I smiled.

" All the credits goes to Ardeyn and Asher." I said to Mom. " If they wouldn't come in time then I wouldn't be able to help Mrs. Bradley." I said to Mom and she nodded.

" A big thanks to Ardeyn and Asher-" she stopped and looked around. " Where is Asher? Has he gone back to home?" Mom asked and I shook my head.

" Mr. Bradley came and Asher took him to his mom's cabin." I said to Mom and she nodded.

" Alright then." She said. " You guys must had't have dinner yet. Let Asher come and go have dinner."

" I am not hungry, Mom." I said to her.

" It's not about being hungry, Ari." She said. "Go, have dinner. There Asher is." She said and I sighed. She will not rest until I agree with what she says. " Go, have dinner with them. Ardeyn and Asher thank you both for the help. You guys should go home. It's quite late now." Mom said.

" It's ok, Ms. Roy. There's no problem if we stay here tonight." Ardeyn said. I rolled my eyes.

" We don't have anything else to do here. You guys can leave, Ardeyn. Mr. Bradley is here as well. He will handle." I said as we walked out of there but Ardeyn ignored my words like I don't exist around. I rolled my eyes.

I was very stressed about works, my so called father's sudden love for me and my exam which was knocking on the door. Everything was stressing me a lot. Suddenly I felt Asher holding my hand and pulling toward him. I looked at him weirdly. He eyed me to see something and I found a group of people were dragging the stretcher away. I sighed deeply.

" Be careful." Asher said and I nodded.

I am done. I needed to sort things out as soon as possible.
