Adyson’s POV
Pumunta ako sa court dahil nagbebreakdown daw doon si Katherine, ako lang ang kaibigan niya dito. Umuwi lang siya dito sa Pilipinas dahil mas gusto niya na dito mag-aral kaysa sa California.
Katherine and I are childhood best friends, maybe that’s the reason why I can’t say no to her sometimes.
“Pwede mo ba balikan si Khallie? May kailangan kasi siyang ibalik na mga libro sa library”I asked a favor to Calum, my older brother.
“Okay”
“Katherine”I called her name then she ran towards me.
She hugged me tight while crying, but I don’t want to hug her like how I hug Khal. So, I just cupped her face.
“Ano’ng nangyari? Are you okay?”
Umiling siya. “My father died, Ady… and I fucking lost my passport…”
“Condolence”I said.
“I just need you right now, Ady. Dito ka lang muna sa tabi ko”hinawakan niya ang kamay ko. She’s my best friend, that’s why I said yes.
Sana maintindihan pa rin ako ni Khallie. Sana maintindihan niya na kailangan ako ngayon ng best friend ko. Na kailangan na naman ako ng best friend ko.
“Khallie is with Paulo, bro”Calum patted my shoulder then he went inside the shower room.
“I trust her”I said to myself.
Even though seeing her with Paulo could break my heart, I still trust her. I will always trust her because I love her. Alam ko na ako ang pipiliin niya.
“Can we go somewhere?”Katherine asked me. She needs a friend right now, so I’ll be a best friend to her. Katulad kung paano nagpapakabest friend si Paulo kay Khal ngayon.
“Where do you want to go?”I offered my handkerchief to her then she wiped her tears.
I don’t want to do that for her. The only tears I wanna wipe is Khal’s tears.
“Can we drink?”she asked me.
“We can’t”
“Samahan mo na lang ako please?”tumango ako at saka niya sinakbat iyong bag niya. Lumabas kami ng basketball court at dumiretcho sa parking lot.
“Pupuntahan ko lang si Khal sa library”I said to Katherine while finding my car key.
“I saw her with Ryker. I know that she’s in a good hands right now”she replied.
I drove her to Antipolo, dito raw kasi gustong pumunta ni Katherine. She also bought a beer for herself and I don’t think drinking is a good idea to escape problems.
We stayed at peak of the place where you can see the whole city. Heto iyong lugar na alam ko na gusto puntahan ni Katherine ngayon dahil ganito naman ang pinupuntahan niya kapag nasasaktan siya.
“Are you sure you don’t want to drink?”she offered me a can of beer but I refused it.
I only want to get drunk when I’m with Khal.
She sighed. “Seems like you really love Khallie huh”
“I love her, so much”I replied.
I saw her reaction on my peripheral view, I saw that she smiled.
“Mahal mo pa rin ba siya kahit magkaibigan sila ng lalaking minahal niya bago ka niya mahalin?”tanong niya sa akin.
Alam ko na hindi ko maaalis si Paulo sa buhay niya, pero may tiwala ako sa kanya.
