This one amused me so much I decided to post it a day early.

We were parked in front of a fancy dress shop that catered to supers, shifters normally went to this or one of the other three in this city when they were planning a wedding. They were also the three shops that sold gowns for a fancy evening out for most supers that cared to do that. I sigh glaring at the shop, I hear Heather chuckle. She leans over and whispers in my ear, "now Nancy I know you don't want to be here. However, the longer you stare at it the longer we have to be here; and I'm not quite sure you glaring at it would set fire to it." I hear Brenda chuckle as she caught the last bit, and Mrs Smaten turns in the driver seat to look at us, "come on now lets go in." She levers me a look, "we're not just here to get your evening gown, we also have to find which of these tailors will be the best for Brenda's wedding." My mouth drops, she just insinuated that even if I chose something here we'd still be going to the other stores.

Heather gives me a gentle nudge, "lets go don't think of this as your shopping. Think of it as you helping Brenda, and how you get to keep something hidden from Doug." She grins knowing that Doug and I were such close friends that we acted like really close siblings, so having something the other didn't know was fun to have. I sigh again giving up and I open the door and head out of the Smaten's car.

We walk into the store and we are inundated with lace, and fabrics of all kinds; I even spy a few period styled dresses. The male shop keeper whom I smelled the magic dripping off of sorcerer I mentally growl. Dr Peter warned me that if one of them caught a look at me they might become fascinated by my energies. He approaches Heather ignoring Mrs Smaten, foolishly I'd like to add. "Greetings young lady how may I help you today?" He lifts his chin slightly to the side his eyes gazing over us three shifters briefly, "you're guards can wait outside we are a safe location."

Before I can snarl at the man Mrs Smaten touches my arm and I hold off, if she wasn't going to react then I shouldn't. The guy turns to look at me when I felt angry and Heather comments, "oh we're hear to shop for my future cousin in law right here." She points to Brenda then she points at me, "and my adopted cousin here needs an evening gown." The shop keeper looks briefly annoyed but councils his face quickly. "Ah a wedding then, can you give me the name please?" He turns to Brenda ignoring me again, which I had zero problem with.

Mrs Smaten keeps quiet as Brenda answers a smirk on her face. "The Smaten wedding of course," the shop keeper pales and turns to Mrs Smaten, "I am sorry Ma'am I didn't know who you were." He turns to me and bows deeply, "I now know who you are as well. Please pardon my rudeness I did not mean to disrespect a 'special'." I shrug and look about the store, what was his problem? I hear Seamus chuckle, well kitten; while magic users tend to think of shifters as merely animals. They wouldn't want to annoy a God touched person. I mentally snort, like I want to be treated differently just because I am slightly different. Not that I wanted to be treated poorly, the shop keeper notices me ignoring him and comments. "Feel free to browse petite fille de Scartooth." I nod my head and start looking about the store, at least he was not assuming my name; and just calling me granddaughter of Scartooth.

I start looking around through the large amount of wedding gowns, trying to find the evening wear when a woman touches my arm. "Ma'am? This way to the evening wear," the young woman leads me to the side of the store freeing me from the waves of frills and lace. I let out a breath I hadn't know I was holding in.

The woman gives me an odd look and waves her arm indicating the area the gowns were in, "I will be nearby should you have a question Ma'am; my teacher will be with you in a short while." I nod my head in response, I guess she is learning the trade from the sorcerer.
