Never be ashamed about being broken,
because strength is nothing but pain that's been repaired.

It was his first time seeing her cry this hard.

But for some unknown reason, Shoto never questioned. One of his arms was wrapped securely around her waist, while the other simply threaded through her silky strands of hair, as he continued to listen to her soft rocking sobs under his embrace. Airi was shocked at how she was even conscious at that point, noticing how much tears she had let out which might have drained all the water in her whole body.

When she finally did try to calm down, she wiped her tears roughly with her hands, pulling away from leaning onto his chest. Shoto looked down, studying how puffy her eyes were after her breakdown, though it did nothing to her ethereal beauty. What Shoto did notice was how helplessly broken she was after everything that has happened, and the boy was in regret for not having the effort to be there for her when she really needed him in The Netherworld.

"I'm sorry.", she apologised softly, her gaze locked on his blazer which had faded into a darker colour due to her tears. "Your uniform is wet."

He glanced down to his blazer, and back to her eyes,

"It's okay. I don't mind."

Placing his right palm on her cheek, his eyes trailed over her features for a few seconds. Airi didn't connect her gaze with the boy, she could already guess how concerned he looked due to her bad condition after her endless crying. Shoto continued to adjust a few of her loose hair strands by the sides of her face, tucking them behind her ear. His other arm never left from encircling her waist, causing for the both of their bodies to be softly pressed against each others, the close proximity making Airi felt as if she was peculiarly safe in his hands.

"What's wrong, Airi?"

Shoto's tone was so softly reassuring in her ears, and Airi had appreciated the fact at how the boy had approached her in such a gentle manner, instantly lifting the slight burden off of her chest.

But even so, Airi stayed quiet. No, It wasn't because of Airi wanting to hide anymore secrets from the lad, but this time, she was genuinely clueless. She didn't know what was wrong with her. All that she knew now was how she might've caused the bottled up feelings in her heart to break accidentally, resulting a sudden breakdown.
