"I don't have a choice, do I?"
Airi asked deeply, controlling the tone of her voice so it wouldn't sound too crude, nor too amiable. She refused to connect their gazes, she was afraid it would cause her to glare unconsciously at the former Pro Hero standing in front of her.
All Might sighed. "I'm afraid you don't, Young Himari."
When he answered, Airi couldn't seem to comprehend the mixture of emotions she was experiencing right at this second. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to be enraged, or as usual, unfazed by the fact she was placed in the frontlines once again by the unanimous decision of the Pro Heroes.
"Where will my mother be dispatched?"
"At Okuto Island, alongside a few of your classmates and other Pro Heroes. The villain there will be Toga Himiko, but Violet will be mainly in charge of eliminating the Near High End Nomus'."
Airi nodded in understatement. She then inquired, "Who will I be dispatched with?"
"With the Top Heroes, except for Endeavor and Hawks. Two of your seniors, and two of your classmates.", he glanced at his clipboard for awhile, telling her, "Young Bakugou and Young Midoriya."
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion when his name wasn't mentioned.
"What about Shoto?"
"He will be dispatched at Kamino, to defeat Dabi."
"Alone?"
"There will be Endeavor's sidekicks. And Young Iida."
"No, I mean-", she fumbled anxiously, struggling to find the right words. "I mean, if Katsuki, Deku and me are going to fight Shigaraki, then who's.... who's going to be with him...?"
All Might blinked, finally realizing what she meant with her question. He lowered the clipboard, reaching closer to pat her shoulder, to which Airi merely avoids. It was then she could connect the dots to why Shoto had been so eager to improve his newly developed technique, and why Midoriya and Bakugou kept training with each other every evening to improve their teamwork.
She realized the real reason to why Bakugou and Shoto were having such a tough time understanding each other, and why they refused to train together.
